At a certain point what do you even say anymore? Maybe after some time has passed I'll be able to reflect and review. I'm enjoying this band more than ever and I'm excited to get some more.

Well you could share some of your experience and let us know what songs moved you most this night.  You could even divulge the spiritual and personal growth your experiencing through this music at the time, but I will settle for a hug in Eugene.

I guess the whole review thing is a lot better when it closely follows the show....you all are excited for the play by play and I'm out here experiencing it but giving nothing back. It just gets so difficult at this point in the tour to compose my thoughts. As i've said in the past, when I'm really having the time of my life at a show my mental activity is at a minimum. And when I'm seeing this band, out on the road with amazing old and new friends, things get pretty blissed out and therefore a bit blurry. But i'll do my best to recall some moments while I kill sometime before hitting the road for Oregon....

Sunday Night. I always want the last night of a run or mini run(GAMH in this case) to be the best, or at least for my experience. Sunday, day of the lord, a good day to forgive, be forgiven, and get the fuck down. It's tough, though, when you have a show like Saturday's...but anyway, they played strong on Sunday night. The year selection was a surprise to me but with DSO it's best not to give too much weight to your opinions of what you think you like and don't like. Just experience the music as it is in the moment, without wanting or needing it to be different in any way. Dance, close your eyes, whatever moves you and brings you into harmony with the music and your fellow concert goers. I prefer to jump, groove, and spin as it brings me (and maybe sometimes others) great joy.

Jack Straw
Sugaree
Walkin' Blues
Candyman
Stuck Inside of Mobile
Tennessee Jed
Music Never Stopped

Jack straw, is there a better way open a show? Great way to get the crowd fired up and this version was fine indeed. Sugaree soared; one of those songs that the first notes may not excite me but by the second solo i'm losing it. I love walking blues, probably my favorite Bobby blues tunes. Candyman was sweet. Memphis Blues was jumpin'. Really good, fun song to dance to. Tennessee Jed was actually really awesome. Music was totally over the top.

Scarlet Begonias
Fire on the Mountain
Truckin'
Smokestack Lightnin'
He's Gone
drums
space
Comes A Time
Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad
Good Lovin'

I wanted the scarlet>fire, called for it all day, and it rocked. The whole set rocked, actually. Comes a Time was really good but I wish the jam at the end had gone on longer....GDTRFB was a great dancer as well as Good Lovin. Great dance party in the balcony of the GAMH...I have a new found appreciation for that place, just have to find your place.

Wouldn't say I topped my experience from the night before but had a magnificent time none the less.

Great dance party in the balcony of the GAMH...I have a new found appreciation for that place, just have to find your place.

so happy I could be there with you my friend. the balcony was incredible place to be for these shows. pure bliss. I really enjoyed the Jack Straw> Sugaree, Walkin Blues was a killer opener, they nailed it. Actually all of this first set was extremely well done. Loved the Memphis Blues, had a really nice feel to it, hadn't heard them do it in a while, was soo good, Skip is like a dream come true, i absolutely love him. They knocked the Scar>Fire wayy out of the park, grand slam...Truckin was strong too, very tight work..groovy Drumz, Jeff's voice has gotten so much better and softer on the edges and Comes A Time was proof..>GDTRFB>Good Lovin high energy dancing dream. Fabulous Baby Blue encore, Palm Sunday left me wanting some more Lisa, but it is what it is. DSO please start doing Rhapsody in Red.. so grateful to have been in SF for these 3, the best friends I have in my life,I've made through seeing this band..DSO I truly cant thank you enough for doing what you do....meet you at the Jubilee!

better late than never?

the sunday night show was by far one of my favorite 90s shows I have seen DSO perform.  I think there is something about 90s shows and weird crowds, though, and I don't wanna focus on this cause Mango will bitch at me, but some tweeker kids completely tried to ruin the entire second set for our group and I fended them off until comes a time but I just couldn't DO IT anymore it was COMES A MOTHER FUCKIN TIME and sadly, you know, they kind of DID ruin it for me.  "just move?" you say? well, how was i supposed to get all 6-10 of us that were dancing that space to move during such an EPIC show? I THOUGHT I could keep them away, but man, I give up.  we went upstairs for encore and though twacked kid followed the bite was gone and at least I kind of got my baby blue.  kind of.

BUT, I am not one to let one person tarnish my whole show experience, so, I gotta say, this first set really got me and the second set had me grooving throughout and despite the craziness.  never know what you will get, went to a sunday show at the gamh for church, but kind of got a reminded about the bucket ride instead.  all good. lessons learned.

jack straw had everyone looking around assured the show would be great and sugaree got us prepared for Jeff's mad guitar brain washing for the night as we swirled through the blender.  people were REALLY silly during the walking blues, SF got super sexy and everyone put their ego on their sleeves and strutted with em for a bit.  candyman was a super crowd pleaser, you could here the whispers of love and gratitude for this one. first set finished out with electric joy and we were relieved to just relax for a bit…. but WAIT, everyone was REALLY wasted in SF this night and I had almost as much trouble selling stuff as I would have if I had attempted it on friday.  oh, SF, you are a wildly delicious place!

scarlet fire truckin smokestack he's gone?!? yes please! recipe for success? you know it! this part of the show was the part I reference when I say I enjoyed this more than any other 90s show I have seen them do (at least thinking about it right now….) the energy was so high that I was scared we all would lose much more than just our faces by drums.  i was actually grateful that the comes a time did not go on and on because I had it messed up by that kid….. it was HILARIOUS to see the effect of GDTRFB on the kid though, cause he literally LOST IT in the frenzy and the smiling laughing faces of all the kind SF folks around us that tried to keep the kid NOT ruining the show for everyone was pretty amusing.  i like how we all try to just contain such erratic BS instead of leaving it for others to deal with.  love you guys!

the it's all over now baby blue and the palm sunday in the balcony were quite nice.  i don't like palm sunday but watching the ballerinas in the balcony made my little unicorn heart soar with joy.  and the its all over now baby blue was a great choice because I just kind of assumed it was what would be played as I escaped the hectic front to find the homies in the top.

love this band, this was the best 3 night run in one city I HAVE EVER experienced, holy Jerry, dudes, how can every show be better than the next?!?! I keep trying to make it clear in my mind, but all I seem to remember is how amazing this band is right now and how they keep doing it just exactly perfect.  yummy.

we headed out of SF and down to spend time with my sweet Mango in santa cruz.  such a fine connection! Gabe spoke in awe of his experiences in the bay as we drove along the pacific on the 1 on our final journey south along the coastline for this trip.  he is so happy to have met so many shiny people and says he loves me more than ever.  seeing that he can actually handle this experience and ME and not only that, but is totally down to tour with me until we make it to Nepal (can't do em all, we do have to help our friends and go to dharma events, as well! lol) has made me love Gabriel so much!!!

aw, the good life.
