Ah….. to be back at home.  San Diego isn't much different from Solana…. same drunken crowd (hey, a few notches more respectful and kind!) but at least everyone looked out for each other, friends and strangers alike, so everyone was cared for and it seemed we all made it through the show with less than a full face so…. it worked! :)

No good spot to post up and sell gear, as the crowd was dispersed around the entire block and inside the venue bar.  No real line other than the 20 of us that had a spot we really wanted (up front, of course!) line time is a good time to make friends with the other rail rats and we were pleasantly surprised by one lady that danced with us all night and helped everyone around her have the best night ever.  Feisty, that one, but in only the most endearing ways.  There was the other couple that wanted to push in from the right all night, haven't gotten "that one" in a while, but they were cool and I knew they just wanted to try really hard to have a fun night because they don't seem to get em a lot…. its cute when someone finally gets grabbed by the music that has tried all night not to be and then notices you notice them and they stop…. hehe, listen to the music play! great vibes!  90s vibes ;)

met up with a few of u dork stars and it made my heart really happy.  good to have another rail rat partner, poetrygirl!!! i knew we'd hit it off! ;)

ah, the proverbial bucket.  quick and in your face, the show blasted off at speeds that threatened to crash the rest of the night (nice complete build up to the other one for the ENTIRE freakin' show, guys, I heard what u were doing, Skip and Eaton… please don't stop!) but never did cause this is DSO we are dealing with and every crash (inevitable) just rolls back up with the tide of how well these guys all play together.

mmmm cold rain and snow.  we left it behind in CO when we came to malibu 3 weeks ago and it isn't a first show of my tour without Mango and cold rain and snow popping up ;)  memories of that last time I did this tour threaten to beam me up once combined with how amazing I feel after finally getting back on the road last night.  the sound continued to be electric and sizzling, keeping the rain from freezing all around.

the red rooster was sexy and hot and I had lots of strong images from the energies in the room of people there all having "been there before" and the ladies really got down and the guys really got up and it was freaking longingly delicious!!! Eaton stole the show for the night (90s!) but Skip was seriously vibrating my ribcage and the crystal I desperately clutched to prevent his bombs from making it shatter to the ground. wow, guys, wow.

hehehehe if I could explain the unicorn mischief I have been up to lately in a polite manner, I would attempt to.  instead, suffice to say loose lucy was exactly what we wanted to dance to together last night and I think I giggled harder than I have in a while.  actually, the whole set list was a "reading my mail" situation which is silly cause I can't say I would have chosen it ever in any realm but hey, once again, this is why DSO brings me back over and over and over again.  the whole crowd ate it up and danced it out and the band was having a silly great time.

masterpiece almost gave us a chance to breathe but the energy stayed so high it was difficult to keep going (tight crowd up front by now) but we spun it out and made the best of it and the band totally raged the song and i felt like maybe one day it really would be a little different when we paint our masterpiece.  oh yeah.  masterful masterpiece.  still waiting for the Jeff version, though…… hehehe

the roses was divine.  yellow roses from the magic goddess we met with her friend (they should be at at least one of the next two shows thanks to some encouragement from band and fans) ended up on the stage by the end and the band was a little surprised which was beautiful to behold.  finally gave us a chance to breathe and let the cool breezes blow us in the sweet scent of roses and mystical longing notes of tender love.  beautiful.

bursting and fiery let it grow. greatly yield, indeed.  crowd could barely contain themselves, my oh my.  dancing the circular track, you know it.  oh 90s DSO.

set break was a little rough because leaving the front was not an option and the venue was cramped and weird to navigate.  very happy when they finally came back on.

China Rider to bring us back (after insane amounts of tuning teasing, i LOVE DSO cause they do the tuning game so damn well!) and once again I was grateful to have my march winds song blow me back on tour and into the heart of love.  the crowd was instantly whipped into a frenzy for the entirety of second set.

lonely saint without a sailor came out with wild energy and though we didn't know what we were going for, we ALL went for it FOR SURE…. everyone was singing and dancing it out and the best crazy dancers started pushing up to dispel the drunkards and I could tell these cats had done the 90s show racket before and I am so grateful for the protection by the elders and lovers of all times! listen!

foolish heart was really uplifting and soared more than I expected…. Jeff really nails this song every time!!! so good to dance to.

drums space made me feel very very very unsober.  difficult.  unstable.  ME, not them.  THEY were on it, made it look easy, and held it the fuck down! I, however, almost left the show (can u believe it!?!) cause I had some really deep moments of concern, doubt and worry but then I remembered it is all in my mind and just in time the OTHER ONE FINALLY dropped and the ultimate showgasm finally popped in the room that had been building from the moment they hopped in the bucket.  daaaaaaaaamn!!!! not that this was "the best" other one, it was just the way they teased into it from the first notes of the show.  sexy. geeky.  love it.

wharf rat brought reconciliation in a hostile crowd and instead of the drunkards pushing the front, even more sparkly eyed hippies appeared and we all got up and flew away.  all the way.  off the freaking planet to see it as a peaceful place, or so it looks from space…….

super duper throwin stones and I can't tell you how good it felt (we have been staying in Malibu 3 weeks, lol) to dance that one out.  the NFA was mmmmmmboppy hoppy and the crowd kept chanting and clapping til the band reappeared.

brokedown was joyful not mournful, ascending not descending and still almost made me cry.  mama mama many worlds I've come….. with all of YOU!!!! mmmmmm kiss kiss!!!! oh, Jeff, you really channel the man.

um, that was the best white rabbit ending jam out I have ever seen or heard.  something about the crowd and their anticipation and Lisa pulling it into her and belting out the energy like an angel general commanding an army of devotees exploded through the music and blew my freaking mind! blew all of our minds.  faces stolen, you got em, girl.

drove back to Malibu, sunny morning of rest to get ready for El Rey tonight!!! kiss kiss, see u there!
