Forum MVP Rude Posted March 18, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 Looking over the festivals out there I've seen a few that look intriguing. Phases of the Moon is brand new and has a solid lineup for an end of summer fest plus it's close to me in central Illinois. It seems to have the best lineup for my tastes besides jubilee. What festivals besides jubilee are you thinking about attending this summer?
Forum MVP Tea Posted March 18, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 Bacchanalia. It's a new festival at Rudes place. Free admission, lodging, and party favors. Lineup TBA. I'm there. GOTV just got announced. It'll depend what DSO is doing at the time.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 18, 2014 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 My house is always open . It's one of the perks of being single. Plus pool will open in a few months yay!!!!! Hoping for 90s everyday this summer. But...party favors are the responsibility of the patrons. I do provide frozen well drinks free of charge by the pool. JacksonPollockDancer
Phases looks pretty cool rude, and the venue looks beautiful, especially the fall pictures with the leaves on the ground. I guess mid Sep. might be just a tad early for that though. I might have gotten talked into doing Wanee. Never done a big festy before so it shall be an experience. Forum MVP Rude Posted March 18, 2014 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 Wanee has a big lineup. But I don't get listing Allman Bros as the headliners. I bet Mule or String Cheese bring more fans than Allman Bros do to a 3-4 day fest. If DSO played 3 days at Phases or Wanee, I'd guess many here would be there in a heartbeat. I've seen the allmans several times and they are good but I wouldn't get me to travel across the country. I know the whole country knows the Allman Bros but do many people hit 3-4 shows in a row with them?? Their setlists seem pretty similar night to night. Wanees lineup is a little bigger and maybe the top lineup this year but I'd take 2 nights of panic over allmans. Too bad no DSO x4 at phases lol. Boot Jackie Greene x2 and give it to DSO. Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted March 18, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 Mikey and Billy playing with Disco Biscuits at the Vibes makes for an interesting break from the ordinary. I don't know what it may foretell about a full-on reunion next year. Probably nothing.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 18, 2014 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 Another thought on Wanee. Moe is listed way down. I bet moe sells more tix than trey. I know that moe sells out many of the DSO type venues as they play the same places but trey doesn't seem to sell as many with his solo projects. It seems to me that having Allman and skynyrd as 1-2 doesn't hit the festival target market. Skynyrd fans aren't going to drop 300 for a 3-day fest I don't think but moe fans would. Sorry. I just think marketing all day at work and sometimes I'm perplexed at how things are promoted.
JacksonPollockDancer
I mean to be honest I think I'm more interested in going just to be with the people i'm invited by, and to experience the GIANT festival type thang. I enjoy allman quite a bit, Skynyrd why not? would love to check out trey band. lot of other stuff should be fun too. 300 is steep but I will get by

Forum MVP Dead duck Posted March 19, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 19, 2014 I will probably take my boys to the ledges for 4th of july. And then maybe we'll hit a couple smaller ones down at terrapin hill farm. Other than that the jubilee is about the biggest Fest I care to attend anymore. And the kids are sittin that one out this year
