One of my favorite venues, House of Blues has it together.  Parking right across the street, slight frisking on first entry, but what is the point because they give you a hand-stamp for re-entry, and then don't re-check you the second time around.  But let's not point out the loopholes here - their security is top notch.  Coat check inside.  Smoking anything is of low concern.  It will only get you a flashlight in the face.  They must have constant problems with fighting at other shows.  There were a lot of light-hearted signs around the place, basically stating our Deadhead mantras anyhow...things like Be Nice or Leave, some as simple as No Fighting In Here.  Unfortunately I had to witness something going down where 4 security guys had to remove a patron and his girlfriend into police custody.  There was also another person who was too obliterated to stand, so they had to remove him.  It was all done well and really was not intrusive to the show at any time, so way to go there, HOB security team.  Now on to the show, with my first 25-oz bud light down, we get to see a little bit of American Beauty show up.  I think the best song in the entire first set was Bird Song, so high energy and long.  The Race is On was also surprisingly fast-paced and rockin,' but to see Who Was John took first place.  That is such a hard-core rocking song!  Coming back with Mason's Children to start off the second set was fun, and Skip did a great job with Unbroken Chain.  I found myself trying to pick out the re-entry point into Dark Star as they came out of Space, but fool me again, because we're gonna do it in the road first.  I had not been that into the Eleven until this show, and now I have to listen to all the versions available on the Archive.  Morning Dew..had everyone turned on and tuned in.  And Tangled Up in Blue is the only Dylan song that could've fit here, well, because none others fit anywhere, including Memphis.  Yeah that's right, I said it again.  All in all, great show, great venue, but a little disappointing to see that we had to have somebody be arrested and the ambulance called to this show.  Does not make us look great.  I hope those two don't come to the Jubilee.  Back to work for a night's rest and then on to Lexington.  Also, I believe what they said about Skip's last show, was that this is the last show he can be called "the new guy," because they now start repeating places he has been already.  Or something to that effect.

1. Till The Morning Comes - loved it .... yep I did.. good to have Lisa on the stage after she took the previous 2 nights off ...

2. Memphis Blues - I think that Rob Eaton does this song amazing .... this actually was a pre show conversation that Rick and I had on the trip to the show ... a trip we kicked it limo style - bang boom

3. I don't even remember the set break it was such an electric 1st set > 2nd set ...

4. Who was John  .... and then the entire 2nd set .... this band does not suck

5. We had 10 go with us .... only came back with 9 ... but the good news is the man down we lost we lost found his own way home ....

I just love when they do it in the road!!! The Box to start it out was a treat. HoB is really a great venue to see a show, I have been to the last 3 shows there now and it never disappoints. I must have spaced for a minute cause I have no memory of Race is on being played. LMAO. My only regret is that I did not make the trip to Cbus and get my back 2 back. Oh $ 20 for two beers is a little steep.
