Lineup announced - It's amazing

Late to the party

Seen Priest a bunch of times back in the day, they always put on a great show. As far as Sabbath, I have to go with Ozzy. Gotta agree with Found that Dio Sabbath had a different sound. Still very cool though. Have you all heard Sabbaths new album 13? Sounds like old school Sabbath.

I really enjoyed the new album. Gave it a few listens. Nothing all that original to it, pretty much rehashed a bunch of their old material but it was still very enjoyable. I forget the song names but one sounded exactly like Planet Caravan and another sounded exactly like the eponymous song of their first album. I'd give the new album a 7. Nice to know that those guys can still do it after all these years (and drugs.) Hoping Tony makes a full recovery.

Sorry, moved this over:

Dark Star Orchestra  (DSJ #1, #2, & #3)

Yonder Mountain String Band (DSJ #2 & #3)
Galactic (DSJ virgins)
Keller Williams With More Than A Little (DSJ #1, & #3 kind of revirginated)
New Riders Of The Purple Sage (DSJ virgins)
The Wailers (DSJ #2 & #3)
Anders Osborne (DSJ virgin)
The Werks (DSJ #2 & #3)
Toubab Krewe (DSJ virgins)
Cornmeal (DSJ #1 & #3 overhauled)
Ultraviolet Hippopotamus (DSJ virgins)
Rumpke Mountain Boys (DSJ #1, #2, & #3)
The Ragbirds (DSJ #1 & #3)
Aliver Hall (DSJ virgin)

Strong, strong, lineup so far.   If DSJ #1 and #2 are any indication, this is 13 of 22 acts so 9 more to come!!!!

Guesses, the proverbial David Gans (in some version, last year with Rumpke was sweet!), Donna Jean Godchaux-McKay Band with Jeff Mattson (SUPER new release coming out next week!), Matt Reynolds (getting stronger and stronger and DSO accompanists really elevated the set),My Brothers & Sisters aka Very Garcia Band (strong group!), Folkadelics (Barraco connection and a lot of fun), Boombox (Donna connection and we need some dance/DJ), Motet or Orgone (need some funky brass), Railroad Earth (love their new release!), and ........Bob Weir and Ratdog!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That will give us Bobby and Donna Jean bringing direct Dead connections and David Gans, David Nelson, and Rob Barraco bringing additional Dead vibes, along with of course our hosts DSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please keep in mind these are only my best WAGs, and a little hope.  But @#$%&! if I am right, DSJ #3 will be the best so far!!!  Even if I am wrong, it will be the best so far!!!!  Now can we get some nice weather????

PS, None of my guesses are committed yet according to their websites.

PPS, remember NO ALLGOOD this year!

PPPS:  I WANT RAILROAD EARTH TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to see Boombox make an appearance. They have a special place in my heart considering they played in between sets at my very first DSO show. The music never stopped :)

I'm pretty happy with the line up so far. I'm a music freak and (obviously) a deadhead. Not usually a fan of the typical jam/folk-fest faire but the Jubilee has been ON since the start and I'm optimistic that it will be for a VERY long time.

And as much as Dio is very cool Ozzy is Black Sabbath.

I have walprugis on vinyl. I have quite a few sabbath bootlegs on vinyl, the quality is okay usually, but that Asbury park show is phenomenal. Great driving music. The whole show is amazing. Riding the high of Sabotage.

I'm glad one person here enjoyed it. It's one of my favorite boots GD or otherwise. It really is nothing short of phenomenal and shows the band at their peak. Such amazing musicians live, just firing on all cylinders and then some.

OK, Black Sabbath are NOT playing DSJ III this year.....they had a prior commitment.

However, Cabinet and Ratdog I think are 2 legitimate possibilities.  Both are on tour then and in the general area.  Also, maybe Pimps of Joytime will return as they have new music to promote too.

Not looking good for Railroad Earth......they show Friday May 23rd and Saturday May 24th at DelFest......although, that leave Sunday May 25th open still!

:(

They just keep dates open to fit festival schedules. Yonder has all 3 days booked according to their website at both Jubilee and Del fest ...still a good chance

Super cool about Donna The Buffalo playing....I checked their site too and it is there big as day now!

So in checking, maybe the return of the Pimps of Joytime too?  DSJ would be right on their route between Summer Camp in Chillcothe, IL (May 23-25) and Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival in Martinville, VA (May 22-25)!  Could be very cost effective for them.

Still hoping Railroad Earth has time to stop over after DelFest too.
