Going to see?

In the vein of bluegrass, you MUST see the Travlein' Mccoury's if you get the chance.  Just saw them with Yonder Mountain, the other week, fantastic stuff!  They played with the Rumpke Mountain Boys and David Gans a couple months back, really fun night right there.  Those guys are top hands!

Hoping to see Panic play an acoustic show in a cave for a show on PBS next month, fingers crossed.

These days one of my favorite acts to see is Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, damn they really good!

Also saw a band at last year's Lockin' Festival, The London Souls, just two guys, a drummer and a guitar player, very surprised by their sound, the drummer is a walking talking human version of Animal.  They'd be fun for the Jubilee.  So would the Spikedriver's now that I think about it, they are a Columbus based band.

Mango, I'll be interested to hear what you have to say about them. Like I said, I don't expect many here to like them, especially the older folk.

The two members came from a band called Sleep. They were like the black sabbath of the 90's, so they do have their heavier moments but for the most part it's just what I said, stoner drone middle eastern stuff. Gets you knot the zen zone. The old drummer had to quit the band when he became Buddhist monk.

For older, more stripped down stuff, check out the song At Giza. For the newer, more ornate stuff, check out the song Gethsemane.

The London Souls opened for Tedeschi Trucks in Washington, DC last month.  They had a bass player who was really good. The stepped it up from their good set at Lockn' which I also saw.  I agree, they would be excellent at Jubilee.
