Cosmic Mike
I've been a big reader since the 11th grade, and I was happy to recently come across this cool website that serves as a collection of interesting letters, memos, telegraphs, etc. There is this letter from Warner Bros. executive Joe Smith to the manager of the GD at the time Dan Rifkin. You may already be familiar with this letter, but it is a brief and interesting description of the frustrations working with the GD on making Anthem of the Sun. It made me laugh a lot. http://www.lettersofnote.com/2011/02/grateful-dead-has-many-problems.html I really like reading these letters and came across this letter Ken Kesey wrote to his close friends reflecting upon the death of his son in 1984. Phil Lesh would love this letter, and you should all recognize the last line, it sure put a big grin on my face. http://www.lettersofnote.com/2012/09/what-world.html They are both short and insightful. Hope all is well with everyone, and happy reading!
Dancin' Fool
Thanks for sharing Mike. The Warner Bros. letter did have me laughing. The Kesey letter, not so much... .
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted January 23, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 23, 2014 Regarding the first letter, I believe that the package ultimately turned out fine and the band did achieve some importance. Regarding the second leter, I believe "wow."

Forum MVP Rude Posted January 25, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 Yeah the Kesey letter was sad. One man gathers what another man spills. Brought a few tears to the eye.
