Important Information about Fanclub Ticketing!

After a series of email exchanges with the DSO ticketing people, it is important to note a few things.

When you go to the DSO fanclub ticketing site, and if a show you want to see is not on that list, you will need to go through the venue site to secure your tickets.  There is a possibility that an additional allottment could be added later but for the most part, if the show ain't there, plan to have to buy them through Ticketbastard or LiveNation.  Ugh.  (Unless of course your some kind of 'uber-innie' whoose tight with the band and/or management).

The price ranges listed for the fanclub tickets were 26.00 - 32.00 (depending on venue) when the service fee was included.  For comparison, the ticketprice from LiveNation for the Charlotte show was 31.00 (with fees - print at home).  The price for the Newport show in Columbus was 32.85.  Not sure about all the others but thought this cross-section would be helpful.

Bottom line:  Don't wait for the fanclub ticket shows that aren't there to eventually appear.  Go and get them through the other sources so you can avoid getting shut out.

Let's hope that the fanclub tickets get better allottments moving forward so it can indeed be an improvement over the previous platform.  <<<END Public Service Announcement>>>

Cool Tea.  By looking up the Columbus prices and going through the whole process that means you are legally bound to attend that show.  I'm more of an expert on bird law, but I know my way around ticket law as well.

I'm not opposed to going but I need to review the associated clauses that compel me to honor this implied contract.  Let me consult with my attorney - he's REALLY good.  He's no Chuck in Vegas - but still very competent

I always advise my clients to never, ever stop in bat country.

Thread drift approved:

I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?

Thanks for the info.  What happened to the other DSO tix site?  Luckily most of the shows I went to sold tix thru the venue if not DSO site, so I rarely went thru tixbastard.

Here is some info from a previous thread:

Seems like more and more venues are going the Live Nation / TicketBastard route than used to be the case.  I wonder why......?

They must be offering some pretty nice contracts to venues, not sure if that would have been a result of the TM/LN merger. I don't imagine ticket buyers are going to band together anytime soon to file an antitrust complaint. Maybe Chuck can get us some class action certification with the DOJ? I'll make sure the econometrics of the case lean heavily in our favor :).

They're still bastards. Thanks DSO for making ticketing a little easier on us!

All I know that is when using the 2013 DSO tix with just the will call option with no print at home option available, we got to skip these massive lines outside the venue and get in quickly with will call.  I had always preferred having my tic, but we skipped prob 100 people in richmond and NY by going in the will call area.  I guess that shows that the people who buy tix through DSO tix was a much much smaller percentage than peeps who bought through ticketmaster.

Fat stacks of money at stake.  Remember > you are not the consumer - you are the consumed.  Live Nations average surcharge is 23% of face and is cutting more and more 'exclusivity' deals with more and more venues month after month.  Gotta return 'Value to our Shareholders' right?  Barf.

And when I consulted with Pearl Jam on their class action suit against Ticketbastard, and prepped them for their testimony before the Senate judiciary committee on the antitrust hearings, we were amazed at the deafing silence. It was almost as if money talked and everyone else walked. I will see if things have changed much 20 years on.

Hey sorry to bump up such a boring topic, but I could really use some help in figuring out how to get some tix! I've tried over and over with the new fanclub ticketing site and it says that my username is already in use (carried over from the old dso tix site?) and then I proceed to have them send me my password which I receive and the password never works. I haven't even been able to set up a new account and I don't do facebook so I can't enter through that avenue. There is no link on the site for any contact or way to get help....has anyone else had similar problems or any other advice??? I am indeed a bit of a techno idiot but it seems weird that it won't let me set up a new account, etc....

Thanks...
