Cosmic Mike
Story is Phil signed some agreement to play only shows at Peter Shapiro's venues and Phil's own Terrapin Crossroads. Of which, 30 shows will be at the Capitol Theater. I thought this was kind of cool until I saw the price for a "CapPhil 2014 membership." If you do the math, it's a pretty horrible deal--$100 a show. http://www.thecapitoltheatre.com/event/449957-capphil-2014-membership-port-chester/ http://www.jambands.com/news/2013/12/18/port-chester-s-capitol-theatre-to-offer-capphil-season-pass-for-2014-phil-friends-shows#.UrIxoRCma7I Some deadheads seem pretty upset about this, and I can see why. NYC does have money, but that is a meager justification of the price. Curious what you guys think? I guess I'm kind of confused about this Peter Shaprio runs the Capitol Theatre and Relix magazine. Why would he screw over his own kind of people (deadheads)? I also don't know much about how ticket prices are determined, so maybe this was something beyond Phil and Peter's power. Still doesn't settle well with me.

Forum MVP Dead duck Posted December 19, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 19, 2013 My boys have not gotten to see phil or bobby. I saw bobby and ratdog were doing spring shows and was hoping phil would do the summer hitting amphitheatres all over. Guess not. They will get to cross bob off their list but at those distances and $ phil is gonna remain on the bucket list for the time being.

Cosmic Mike
Despite all of this, I have to say that I'm pretty excited that I at least get to check out Bobby and his band this winter. Happy just to know I get to see this music live 20 years after the GD.
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted December 19, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 19, 2013 Truth to tell, they will be here on 4/20, it looks like. And the venue is going to be a nice new local Brooklyn Bowl, which is now a-building. That does sound like fun, and I'm in. The membership fee hasn't been set yet, but I think it will be a lot less than for 30 shows.

The above statement along with the price tag is leaving me a little ill. Business is Business, right? Ugh....

Forum MVP Rude Posted December 19, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 19, 2013 The hidden meaning is wait to dose til after meet and greet. And wear your best tux. No patchouli allowed back stage. Proof of citizenship and full cavity search are required. If Phil's 3 body guards motion to you, step up to the designated line and speak clearly for your allotted 12 seconds. Do not make eye contact or you will be removed from venue. Taper Ron
....... If you do the math, it's a pretty horrible deal--$100 a show. That is for General Admission, you can get Loge seats for almost $200 a pop. Pretty Phucked Up!

Forum MVP John A Posted December 20, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 20, 2013 What was Phil supposed to do when he bought his house in Stinson Beach? Not buy in the gated community?
