Phil Lesh & Friends 2014

Story is Phil signed some agreement to play only shows at Peter Shapiro's venues and Phil's own Terrapin Crossroads. Of which, 30 shows will be at the Capitol Theater. I thought this was kind of cool until I saw the price for a "CapPhil 2014 membership." If you do the math, it's a pretty horrible deal--$100 a show.

Some deadheads seem pretty upset about this, and I can see why. NYC does have money, but that is a meager justification of the price. Curious what you guys think?

I guess I'm kind of confused about this Peter Shaprio runs the Capitol Theatre and Relix magazine. Why would he screw over his own kind of people (deadheads)? I also don't know much about how ticket prices are determined, so maybe this was something beyond Phil and Peter's power. Still doesn't settle well with me.

My boys have not gotten to see phil or bobby. I saw bobby and ratdog were doing spring shows and was hoping phil would do the summer hitting amphitheatres all over. Guess not. They will get to cross bob off their list but at those distances and $ phil is gonna remain on the bucket list for the time being.

Truth to tell, they will be here on 4/20, it looks like. And the venue is going to be a nice new local Brooklyn Bowl, which is now a-building. That does sound like fun, and I'm in. The membership fee hasn't been set yet, but I think it will be a lot less than for 30 shows.

"During the Meet and Greet, and at any special access event offered to Members, you must maintain a civilized decorum, behave with courtesy and respect, and closely follow all instructions."

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. The above statement along with the price tag is leaving me a little ill. Business is Business, right? Ugh....

The hidden meaning is wait to dose til after meet and greet. And wear your best tux. No patchouli allowed back stage. Proof of citizenship and full cavity search are required. If Phil's 3 body guards motion to you, step up to the designated line and speak clearly for your allotted 12 seconds. Do not make eye contact or you will be removed from venue.
