I agree Jeff Mattson got game!!!

I was struck by how tight DSO was last night, as a band I really feel they're taking the music to new places.  I was very impressed.  It was great to see the show with Jonah, or I should say, be in the same venue with him as he was with his friends.  He saw his first DSO show when he was 5 years old...13 years later..wow.

Now that I have seen both of these consecutive shows I guess I can review them- had to escape '78 to make it to a computer.

I agree with lookyloo.... we also talked about how tight they were for hours after the show into the next day.  We brought our buddy who I decided doesn't go to enough DSO for his own good and after having his face stolen by Jeff Friday he HAD to come the rest of the weekend and has been having a really good family time. I am happy to hear that he is planning MANY more DSO shows in his future.

I started running into people here in CO that have been asking me if I bite. THANKS Rob B, now everyone thinks I bite, when I only kiss! Very humbly grateful to have been called out at statebridge from the stage only to have people come kid me... any excuse to shake a strangers hand!!!!

Minglewood got the place rocking from the first notes for the whole weekend.  Tight, jammy, and flailingly great! TLEO bounced us all around and Cassidy was sparkling with electric light.  Flawless El Paso, very quick and they made it seem so easy! TN Jed had everyone grooving and screaming out where they would rather be and the All Over Now continued the sing along mad house of joy.  The Loser was dark and stormy and let us all breathe a bit.  BUT THEN, we supplicated the storm and when Lazy Lightning started I got so excited.... I really enjoy my friends finding and hugging me during this song ;) Very satisfying sounds from the whole band and even though the joint we saved til that moment wouldn't light, whatever, the BAND was SMOKING! sooo hot!

half step made me figure we'd get a black peter but I am getting ahead of myself.  crowd was really ready to put themselves at the bands mercy once they came back on the stage.  stand alone franklin's was perfectly executed and reminded me that I can't remember the last time I was at DSO and thought to myself "oops! they dropped that one...." which I did think a few times a few years ago but I think it's been well over a year now since anything like that happened.  they are really taking chances and coming out on top!

This show was all about the Dancin.  I think we all still kept dancin til the Sat show.  Everyone was talking about Eaton's sick textures and bobby-ness in Dancin and the whole band really showed up and twisted us all up in the streets and smoked us down.  Memory lane for me, the same trail that led me to this band in the first place.  Still so honored to have so many from my first show at this one, and soooo many more besides.  My ex always told me I don't have enough friends in "real life" cause all my friends I met at shows but I know from weekends like this that the real world he is referencing isn't real at all, it just sucks.  So grateful for my friends at DSO, its how I meet everyone that matters in my life (mostly).

The drummers killed the drums and really messed with us and I danced really hard while feeling spooked and giggly.  Silly.  These guys are just so fucking good together! Blows people away!  Space was THE space for 78 and they got us anxious and quite spaced out.  Stomping NFA that had a really cool and diff feel to it in a bouncy island way and the black peter was one of the most joyous ever.  Once we were all going around and around I thought the tiny venue might crumble around us it was so spinning and stomping through the room.  Johnny encore was so great, always a winner in my heart cause they make me dance so damn hard when they play this one.  Super great!  The Shakedown was ridiculous and Boulder NEEDED that one and I could feel the healing of dark eyes and hearts all around me.

Jeff's werewolves was the best I have ever seen. Full moon and werewolves.  His lil rap at the end was AWESOME and it was so cool to see him struggle to even make words form after communicating with us through his guitar and the words of songs all night but he really pulled it off and it was soooo cool! def one of the big highlights for us.

had so much fun that 5 of us came for sat... but only 3 got in..... SOLD OUT!
