Little better review.  Hard to use a phone and do a review post show.  The eyes, the fingers, and that small ass screen.  Commodore 64 era still not transitioned well!!

Solid music last night.  Warf Rat was a given, and when Lisa was on stage for TofG sort of new it to be a original.   I really enjoy originals!!!!

A lot of repeat songs from previous shows in tour, but I have been listenting to the same songs for 20 + years so no complaint.

Begin with a Touch, and end with Brokedown.  Fucking a............My life played in public with the sweetest sounds between the words.   It was not the hope of "I will survive" that got me, is was  the fucking vocals to Masterpiece.  Damn, it vibrated me soul, and the ground below me!!!     My nights with DSO are always personal, and last night was no different!!!!

My feet wiggled to the Mexicali and Mama Tried--(thanks for the phil in DDancer:}!!) Both were played with ass moving energy!!!

I took a lonesome chair to listen to Lisa use her chords.   I must say, each venue has its own sound, and places you want to be, as long as you can dance, well the amphitheater on Pier 6 had fucking blasting sound as long as you were under the kite!!!   To hear Lisa belt out her lovings tounge under that roof....brought my hairs up to attention.    Sort of makes me always want originals or 70 shows.   Is it just me, or do the rest of you really like two drummers and a chic's howl:}!!!!?

After feeling warm from my  Coal Miner's Daughter's words (yea---house mom born in was filmed in the beginning of that flic), I got the show think--------thoughts sometimes overwhelm the music-----so I just sat no one near.....and watched Bird Song:}!!!

Its different, so different to watch and listen than to dance and listen.   BSong......shared some beautiful moments, and made me weep , and smile once more.  Funny how a lifetime of emotions can be experienced in just one song.  No one else can do that!!!!!

Promised---normaly jam my ass off----but...watched it as well.   Almost as cool to watch as to dance too---really.     God.....DSO   is the show.   Give me Further or give me DSO......easy wind blows that easy answer!!!!

2nd set...I knew because of The Bridge, it would be a shorter set night:{  Sorry, I like my fix, cant get enough--------Scarlet Fire.....yea...always fun....who does not jump and down for that stuff.  By that time......lower stage area, in no standing area:}!!!   I was not standing:}!!!!

The Drums was fucking off the hook!!!!!  WTF was going on up there.  They had some dude, at least from what I could see, and try to ascertain through wavey ears, shooting out some kick ass sounds.   Honestly, one of, if not the best drum sets I have ever heard from DSO, and I always pay close attention to drums, if I am not dancing my ass of to it!!!!!   Only complaint, could of been longer:}!!!!!   Shit was fucking killer, really....the drums was super special.

Warf Rat...come on.....it was splendid, and well fitted.   Around-----the fuck every where!!!   I too get tired of that song, but its beat and jam is just so feet moving that its hard not to jump up and down.   ------They got me towards the end though.   Thought I heard JBGood come out of it, and I know better, but I just love there stop and goes.  No GDTFB......swore that would of been in the play book, but what they gave they gave well!!!

Brokedown------who did not cry?   Thanks DSO for a real good time!!!     Missing you already, fuck...NC   next week.....fuckk........music vs life------wtf

Ok....long post, yea----we all know-------The venue fucking rocked.    I live sort of close to Baltimore, but never been there before.  No need.  Heard to many bad things about the place, but fuck, stay in the right places, and its cool!!!!   The piers are a blast.   The cops are so stoked on not having to deal with murder and mayhem that they could care less about the smoking.   I had lawn tickets, but could sit near anywhere.   I danced all night RB side with awesome fucking sound!!!!  Beers expensive, watched some poor girl go uncon and peed herself and sit in it for 20mins while parameds assessed.   Actually some good stories through out the night, but got to see some of the eastern regs.  Making a lot of good friends in these travels now, and am happy to see and share time with you all!!!

Please DSO-----make that place a yearly venue!!!  Welll worth every penny and tear spent.   Spent more tears in brokedown than pennies........it does get to the point that the music these guys/gal produce is priceless!!!

last note------Keep the Bassist, he tore through the Other one with thunderous shrouds on a clear stary night!!   I spinned so fast during that production that I saw pieces of my shoe souls on the asphalt.   Fucking killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace, and thanks again to all and many who makes these trips as fun as the music:}!!!!

This venue is really a special place. Like Sunny says, I really hope DSO makes this a regular stop. Has wonderful views of the city, plenty of dancing space, great sound, and plenty of wonderful women who, for once, happen to be my age.

Sunny beat me to talking about the music. As he said short set list sadly, but what can one do about curfew. Personal highlights: transition between Mama Tried and Mexicali, Bird song, Fire, the Other One, Wharf Rat, Brokedown Palace. I had a really great time hanging out in Baltimore after the show. Cool city. I like the younger dead crowd. Reminds me of the crowd back in my home city of Buffalo, except the ladies in Baltimore were all the more beautiful.

Pretty good show, but I'm waiting for the next show to floor me before I write a heartfelt, lenghty review.

I was originally planning on writing a longer review but the brevity of the show mostly held me back. Still get to read everyone's thoughts on the boards. My passion for this music is strong as ever despite my inactivity here. Hope everyone is well, and I look forward to seeing some of you guys at Penn's Peak :)! Maybe that show might just inspiring a writting frenzy of a review filled with all my pent up thoughts and emotions. Till the Peak!

Sun,

I looked for you Sat. night, but could not find you.  Good review.  Try to catch you next time.

Looked for you too......had a "Powered by Stihl" shirt on.

The Drums with the 2 special guests from The Bridge were fantastic. The beatboxing worked really, really well.

Highlight of the night for me was the Fire, which was one of the best I've seen them do in a long time. The other 2 (you guys know which ones) are always special to hear for me. Shed a lot of tears there.

There had to be over 5000 people in that venue. Love the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, so much to do. Great seeing Herdy, albeit for a short time. Love you buddy, sending you peace! Sun we keep missing each other at shows. Mike I'm sorry I missed you also. Was on the rail, so I really didn't get around much. Take care everyone.

Thanks for the update on what was going on stage during drums.  Did not realize there was two vocals, but yea, they did a great job with the drummer boys!!!  It was really fun!!!

Plenty of tears shed for so many reasons, but thoughts about yall during the end---special stuff------and will get up one day!!

The place was packed up front, and on the lawn, but there was tons of room in the back seating.  3000 sounds about right.   Maybe even a little less.   But.....there were people dancing in the streets across from the water  on the other block.  There were boats pulled up with some people dancing on the boats.   At one point a pirate ship sailed by with a bunch of drunk party pirates.

It is a fun place.  Great place for the circus, and to top it off.   Fucking Furbee convention in town.   what awesome street watching with as Mike said, all the females (had a blast watching high heeled women walking on colonial paved streets near the docks of the city--high heel and paver stones don't work well at all!!!), but more than that ...  the Furbies!!!!!   OMG......they were all dressed up in there favorite make belive animal.   Only when I am tripping over city blocks do I see such things.   It was very entertaining.   There was a Furbee, or some people dress up as make believe animal convention going on in Baltimore that night!!   Plenty of before and after show  entertainment!!!

What a great place for a three set night:}  no need for opening act:}

Brokedown------who did not cry?\

Oh I cried all right... cried like a little baby after and during that song... I was thinking to myself before the show started, I bet they fucking play Brokedown, and if they do, I'm gonna lose it... well they did, and I did...

This show predated by two days a conference I was attending at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront (literally steps from the venue)....Perfect weather....Good vibe.  Good venue..I had a seat in the row directly in front of the Soundboard. Dead Center.

I will admit up front  orginals are not my preference.  I had looked at the last few years of Baltimore shows so it was clear we were not going to get something  like a 77 Civic Center show, and frankly I was expecting 80's given my research.  Being honest this show was rather pedestrian for an Original and I thought the band was a little lethargic out of the gate with not enough time to get there Mojo going in relatively short first set. No real surprises in terms of both number and selection of songs either, Just good old Grateful Dead.  My guess is they needed to  fit into a slightly shortened time period than normal so this  was Eaton's play for this show in this City.

Originals are ok, but less so imho  when you don't have enough odd ducks thrown in (Mission, Love to Give, Tangled, Golden Road, Stir it Up those types)..Highlights of this show were Masterpiece, Wharf Rat and Brokedown...Headband was particularly good on this night..

I would say this was my least favorite DSO show since a Valentines Day show I saw in Dallas many years ago.  Having said that, this band is fifty time more consistent than the Grateful Dead were from show to show, and I was coming off a somewhat transcendant experince with November 77 show a month earlier in Des Moines.
