this, from facebook this morn....

"What a great first day at DSO High School. This place is AMAZING. I got there early, so I got the first pick of a camping spot... I ran into Ian Mitchell Boni, who is working production, so I helped set up both the acoustic jam area in the barn and the electric jam area in the roadhouse. Both areas have sweet Bose PAs and they provide high end gear to play through... they have a few Gibsons and PRSs for guitars and PRS and Fuchs guitar amps and Ampeg bass amps and two drum kits. I think they are both DW... They sound great, though. My rig is now a permanent fixture in the electric jam area. I'm letting everyone who wants to use it play through it. There are only about 50 students. It started out with a meet and greet with an open bar and I met all the members of DSO and Al Zilinsky took some pictures. We ate dinner (steak and blackened cod) with the band. David Gans and both drummers sat at our table. Dino and Rob were both very full of information. Musicians who play Grateful Dead music are probably the biggest Dead fans. David Gans played a set with all the members of DSO. I got like 2/3 of the set list. It was very nice. After the show, we went to the electric jam room at the roadhouse and I did a lot of playing and singing. I was the lead singer on stage for a while, which I tried to get out of, to no avail. I ended up playing bass quite a bit, since there are only like three of us who play bass. I jammed with Al, Jordan, Joe, Rob Barraco, Rob Koritz, and Dino English. I think it's amusing that when I finally jam with half of DSO, I did it on bass and not guitar. Haha. Eventually, it got to be a cluster fuck, so I headed over to the acoustic area and there were like six guitar players and everyone sang every word to every song. We jammed for hours. I dragged them through Help On The Way, Slipknot, Terrapin, Crazy Fingers, etc, but we did all the easy ones, too. Noah Flint jammed with me quite a bit. We did the guitar harmonies on Terrapin... I did the Bobby parts. He has a very authentic Jerry sound. I jammed with David Gans and we did quite a few tunes. I played forever with Cotter Michaels, the sound engineer. He also worked with Robert Hunter, so he and I both knew all the words to every song and he was surprised I knew the riff in between the last two choruses on Candy Man. Great night. Today is going to be even better."

sounds fucking sick, can't believe I'm not there....

Kid in a candystore!  I can't play out of a wet paper bag (do ok with some Dylan stuff) but I would LOVE the chance to sing a song or 20 with these folks.

ugh...just saw a photo of my friends Noah and Riley(many of you may know them) playing on stage with Barraco, Koritz, and Dino. I'm not particularly talented at my instrument(piano) but I'd sure love to get some pointers from the Master himself. So cool....so envious.

Cold Rain And Snow ; Greatest Story Ever Told ; Easy Wind ; Ramble On Rose ; Me And Bobby McGee ; Hard To Handle ; Brokedown Palace ; Playing In The Band > Eyes Of The World > China Doll > Good Lovin' (Old School) > Playing In The Band (reprise) ; Gold Road (To Unlimited Devotion)
Notes: GD music workshops throughout the day. Late night jam sessions.

Looks like a one setter. I'm getting the impression that the High School is more about everything else and less about the shows. Sounds awesome so far, if they do it again next year I'm there.

Edit; Dead Duck beat me to it :)

Wow > No live downloads shows since New Years.  It's not like Eaton has anything else to do, right?  I think he plays in some band....
