smoseywales
great show especially the first set. Apparently an original setlist. Aiko Aiko (w/ "Donna") Hell in a bucket Dupre's Diamond Blues a little bluegrass jam between "Jerry" and "Bob" Cassidy Positively 4th Street (Used to Love Her) It's all over now Railroad Blues Looks Like Rain Deal Help/Slip/Feel like a Stranger Unbroken Chain Terapin Station (long) Jam (Cryptical?)>Drums>Space>Miracle Standing on the Moon Ashes Ashes Not Fade Away Encore Dark Muddy River I welcome any edits b/c I don't know them all! The first set was absolutely cranking with everyone putting full energy into each song. Cassidy and Deal were especially hot. Second set, maybe just my preference b/c I'm not a fan of Terrapin, you couldn't hear the lyrics in Chain even up front (mic, or soft voice?) I don't like drums/space and it was way too long, and the other two were lame. The first set was so great that I felt like our precious limited time together was squandered and we could have had more great real songs! But still it was a great night and I will always catch them when they come to town--come back soon! ETA: there are a lot of deadicated fans who do not like space/drums and there are those who do. Guess that's what makes a family.
Ben
the "bluegrass" jam sounded like "oh baby it ain't no lie" to me, but wouldn't wager my bankroll on it. the phil song was unbroken. highlight of the night was help-slip-stranger with an emphasis on the stranger (in mho. of course). reckoning
"Some song "phil" sang" is called unbroken chain. And it separated the show-goers from the heads. I'll say that.

Forum MVP gr8fulpair Posted August 3, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2013 The first set was so great that I felt like our precious limited time together was squandered and we could have had more great real songs! I've got a word for that wasted time between real songs... Heaven.
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted August 3, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2013 I hope SOTM wasn't intended to be labeled as one of the two "lame" songs. Sacred writ is not to be blasphemed.
Forum MVP GoingBackTo Where.... Posted August 3, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2013 The Standing on the Moon was absolutely fucking fabulous. Unbroken Chain----"that Phil song" was played very very well. The band really sounded good last night. Plenty of dance space, and glorious tunes through out the night. I love Drums-----as that is when I can really try to move my feet, and spin as fast as I can!!! They went nuts on Deal. The last jams and build up were cosmic. The help slip stranger was also jamming, and though I prefer a Franklins, it is so nice when they turn things around a bit to keep you guessing!!! The terrapin was a wonderfully long song. Awesome build ups, and I just got goose bumps refilling that vibe "with the spiral light of venus, rising first and shining best" mmmm.......... sound for the soul, words for the ages!!! Thanks DSO........nice to hear it one more time:}!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun in Chesterfield. Started my DSO experience there last year...wish I could of ran it through.....oh well!! Be happy with what you got!!
