T rocks with the set list.  Fucking love this guy.   Helps me remember my shows.

laying back in a VA rest stop on the way home from Dewey.    Roomate bailed out on me last night, at least shared room, so I thought to drive back home, as my family is on my mind.

An hour into the drive, I say fuck it, turn around, come back to Dewey.    I find a nice spot to park my truck with out permits to sleep for night.   Its early, so I got to Cork and bottle or Bottle and cork, whatever........and I find this cool ass Mother Fucker.   This guy is my new hero.  Can not say enough about him!!!!  Dude hooked a brother fucking up, silly!!!   He had a parking permit, with a fucking 25foot motor home right on the street next to Cork parking lot.    He had chairs, cooler, toilet, and fucking awesome place to lay my weary bones after the after show party.    Dude----I know your not reading this, but thanks, and yea, will be getting up soon!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, one door closes, a better one opens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to the show.    They jammed so hard first night, I imagine they would be tired last night.   Yea....they were a bit.   First set was fun, but, and this makes me feel odd to not always say "they rock", but first set was slow.   They, in my opinion sort of lost it at times.   They did find each other again, and made some good music, but for songs like Jack Straw, I am usually bouncing, and it was just so so.

The Playing-----   got really spacey first set.   It felt like they were already done with a space/drums set, and going into a second set deep lost in play jam.    The music was good, but my energy was low, so I took a seat a lot during first set.    Of course, not the whole time!!!!

But..................................as fellow dancers and forum follows said, they fucking pulled it out second set.   My god, did they not make that fucking fun.   Ok-----yea right-----the Casey Jones was fucking super silly!!    My type of GD funk, mixed with a leaded foot....they drove that fucker home all the way!!!!   Now, granted, I have been jamming 74-77  Caseys lately, and I really wish DSO would take that song to the 10minute speed ending that GD used to do.  I care less if you repeat the lyrics a hundred times, just build it up each time!!!!!!   No musical ability here, so it is uncomfortable for me to judge/critique a band I love so much, but I ears don't lie.  Rather, my legs don't lie.   I dance at their speed, not the other way around!!!!

Anyhow......Trucking was super fun, and appropriate, but.........I thought they did feel a little tired.

THEY DID HOWEVER TURN THE FUCKING BASS UP!!!!! That shit was fucking pumping all night!!!!     Thank you, I phil so much better with louder bass!!!!!!

BIODTL  was bone jumping, shit had me running through the place!!!    I have to say, I love compliments about the energy I give off.   Not that I like for me, I like that others get a sense of love and positive energy DSO gives me!!!  Glad to share and pass on, its infectious!!!

Bird Song?   WTF......They stopped playing....literally.   Stopped playing, thought it was going somewhere completely different, but with some sounds coming out of the strings, they roll right back into it.   Not sure what that was about.    Getting to the point now where I feel these guys though the music, and I have to say, I just wonder what is shared on that stage?

early 70's show, so the FODevil was a fast beat version that allowed the feet to hop and skip.  Bobby McGee was excellent!!!   Perfect, could not change anything about it.   Jack Straw.....come on, my if not all of yours favorites!!!   Slow:{    They were working out some things on stage.    I am a snob, so my opinion should be taking as that, but they just were a bit slow and not tight!!

God I love these guys so much, that I feel like I am cheating on them by writing anything but just absolute kick ass reviews, but honesty is important!!

Laptop nearly ready to die, so I will leave with a big thank you DSO.  I big thanks to the supportive crowd, and a fucking finger to the bitch bartender that wanted to charge me 1.50 for water, when the other bar near the smokers, was super cool.  That chic had me cups of water everytime I approached the bar.  Yea I tipped her well, but damn, she got me water  before others got their beer!!!    My type of women!!!!

Last note.....sat down for stella, fucking tired, still, got near a girl, and I am a sweaty smelly mfucker, and she was hot!!!    Instead of leaving, she saddled right the fuck up.....started talking and smoked me out silly.  She laughed at my prude ass, as I am scared to indulge inside, but.......it went on.    Told her I thought Sugar mag was next, and a US blues encore.   As soon as Sugar Mag started.....well...... always gifts for the profit!!!

More than the music!!!  Its the people and experiences in between....Fucking awesome weekend---oh yea.  week...still got DSO this weekend:}  ------maybe:{

Got really scary shit going on......booze never the answer, but looking at life and death, its easier to face death with a drink.  Self infliction should not filter through any mind, just make sure you wear sunscreen, and protect yourself in all your actions!!!

Peace, and thanks again DSO!!!   Thank you so very kindly!!!!!!!!

The early versions of this song do a drum break in the middle. I believe this is what you are referring to.  when we play these 72 versions we are true to this arrangement. Its funny how subjective music and art are!  That's what makes it so much fun.

I felt we had tons of energy:-)  RB

Wow, Rob, I'm impressed you made it through Sun's whole post, I have I hard time making it through....lol.

Love Early Bird Songs, the drum break and triumphant return to the Jam. Doesn't get much better than 72 dead....if only they had written Eyes a little earlier....

and Sun, if you were really a snob you would know the nuances of the eras....Jack Straws pre 76 are slow. That's how it was played.

So there was quite the group of dancers on the right side both nights in dewey. I'm usually a pretty solitary flailing fool, but it was nice to share space with the awesome group over on the side when I felt up to it.

It was mentioned energy was high from sugarmag til the end, but i just wanted to throw in uncle johns band and then box of rain for the last two songs was an incredibly perfect love fest combo.

Sun, I had seen you finally take a break and sit down against the back wall after sugarmags>casey>omsn. The bar crew back their actually commented on it, like "omg he's actually sitting". I also heard one of them say "oh well its his problem if he wants to sit on a dirty floor."(maybe one of them suggested to offer him a stool?) That really just made me laugh, like yeah the guy who just finished an ecstatic dancing frenzy is gonna be like OH NO NOT DIRTY SHORTS.
