WALSTIB
Who's in? Never been to the Hamilton and I'd love to hear a nice acoustic DSO show, but I'm a little concerned that the chatty nature of dc concert crowds might overwhelm the musical vibrations. Cosmic Mike
I'll be there. I live in DC now for work. I was at the Hamilton last year for John K. Band celebrating Jerry's b-day. Venue is pretty nice and has a good sound system. When I was there I was pleseantly surprised to find the crowd not too chatty at all, though definitely not your normal dead crowd. I don't have a computer or internet currently, by my own volition, so I don't get on the forums too much, currently at least. Glad to see that everyone on here seems to be doing well. I'll start making more shows when I have some more vacation days. At least I get to crank through dead shows at work to help make up for the lack of DSO shows ahead in my schedule, although it still doesn't come close to the live experiences I will always look fondly upon . Be well brothers and sisters!
Forum MVP GoingBackTo Where.... Posted July 22, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 curious how the acoustic will fill my bones. will spend the day enjoying some of our nations finest display of art, architecture, and history!! Can not help but to feel the bold cold power of the Feds among the strong grey buildings for bureaucrats. Smithsonian offers wonderful constructions of the past---trex as my lil one says!!! Forum MVP Rude Posted July 23, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 I saw the accoustic show in Bloomington and was lots of fun. Was fun to hear the band chat it up in b/t songs. Was more of a laid back feel. Rob E. was on a stool chilling most of the show. Not as loud as an electric show and not quite as dancey but we enjoyed it more than the following night in St Louis. It was like the audience was a part of the show more with the band chatting it up. But.... the talkers seem to be worse during accoustic.
Forum MVP Dead duck Posted July 23, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 23, 2013 Yeah talkers always worse during accoustic shows but that bloomington show was one of my very favorites. Sat in balcony to try to ignore the grumble. It was like going back in time musically and had the feel of an early college campus show. Enjoy in DC
