Forum MVP Supplicated Velvet Thunder Posted June 29, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 bucket> cold rain n snow cassidy candyman lazy lightning>supplication (YAY!) dupree's masterpiece china>rider unbroken chain> women smarter foolish heart> LIG drumz>space FIRE!> china doll> throwing stones> shakedown E: mighty quinn So the roads were great on the way in, and we didn't SEE any rain, just clouds, from the venue, but DSO caused one hell of a mudslide all the way down the canyon road, emergency road crews, the works! glad they cleared it by after the show! send love to those camping, it seemed like a muddy night by the river. we made it into the show in a very cool way, and after dancing our asses off at JK band the other night (in my top fave shows ever, btw, he's REALLY getting it together for his own new band and it is great!) we were really excited to dance at DSO together for the first time (although we have been at a few of the same ones and its how we met) and we were not disappointed! IT IS SO GREAT TO HAVE LISA ON STAGE FOR 80s TUNES! Rocker start to finish, Jim the bass guy for the night did a mighty fine job (he sang unbroken which we had a preview of at RMGDR the other night, but this was ON!) Really enjoyed his style throughout the night. The cassidy and candyman were noteworthy, and I def lost it when lazy lightning kicked in, and we had a GREAT first set dancing crew (thanks for coming, star child!!!! love!) that stayed great til mid 2nd set. The dupree's was super fun and sounded so great and china>rider never disappoints in CO! I really enjoyed foolish heart and the let it grow was really on fire! speaking of, the fire was actually really groovy and mellow, perfect stand alone blaze! china doll swooned me and many ppl told the talkers to shush and THEY DID! thanks! rocked it on outta the night with throwing stones and that sick shakedown, absolutely a blast! oh mighty quinn! super full circle night with love in the air and expectations high for the next few nights! (or is that just the CO meds? hehe) good life, great shows, lets do it all weekend!!!! when is GRATEFUL WEST gonna happen? more CO dates in a row at a time, please! Forum MVP Rude Posted June 29, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 At about 8:30 local time I got a pic from my buddy stuck on a shuttle bus trying to cross the river to get to the mish. He said he watched 2 other buses make it there while his got turned back. Can't figure how to post this pic from mobile. Needless to say his night was ruined. Forum MVP John A Posted July 1, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 1, 2013 That's quite a finale from space on out. 1st set almost looks like a recreation on paper. Only thing that rules it out is no Lazy Lightning and Masterpiece possible together.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted July 2, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 2, 2013 The show was very much done in the style of an late 80s or early 90s recreation but Lisa on stage was the giveaway on the original early.
Forum MVP Mango Posted July 2, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 2, 2013 Mishawaka is absolutely beautiful. Stunning, really. Was fortunate enough to be picked up from airport at night an driven straight to the mish(night before show). Camped on an island which required us to cross a very cold and rapidly flowing river....some crazy girl came up with this idea. The advantage to this was that the river flowing on both sides of the island successfully drowned out rick's snoring. We spent all day at the campground up the road, baking in the sun an waddling around I the river....loved that river, super crispy cold water, beyond refreshing(especially in the state I was in). The venue itself is stunning with the river running behind it with tall hills on all sides. I thought the first set was great....I didn't enjoy the second as much but I feel that this had less to do with the music and more to do with the flood of more people which sucked up space....those of you thy know me know that mango likes his space. He will share it most willingly, but there has to be some to begin with. Overall a decent show, I left knowin that the next night would be better....
