Um.....Yes Please!

While my list of attended DSO shows may not have the breadth of some of you, it was quite a bit more than I thought when I started thinking about it.

2 things I have yet witness with DSO are:

  • Pre 1970 show
  • The Eleven

I was thinkin that DSO might just take care of both of these in one fell swoop!  I'm not the greedy/entitlement type but I am really hoping the band could see their way to hookin some brothers/sisters up with one or both of these humple requests.

Just posting this makes me worry that doing so will seal my fate in that they'll play a 68 show in Verona, NY and then bust into The Eleven in Keene.  I'm undeterred though.  I don't think anyone really wants to know what lenghts I would be willing to go to help ensure this outcome :o

To avoid such unplesantries, feel free to express your support for either/both of these pleadings.  Please save me from myself :excl:  I know, I know....see more shows - I get it.  Frankly, it's been just dumb luck if you ask me...

BTW - In case you were wondering...

You don't want me to tell you how good a job they do on the Eleven, so I won't. You don't need me to tell you what Pranksters they can be, so I won't. But I will say I strongly support the "one fell swoop" plan.

I bet we get an elective with a pre 70s flair to it. I bet you get your eleven but not an actual 69. Of course, we're all just guessing. Play some psychedelic shit.

Yes please!! I'll take a roundtrip to Mars and back...psychedelic Saturday anyone?

+1 I've stated this on the boards a few times. Some major pre 1970s staples I've yet to hear from Viola Lee to The Eleven.

You guys likely know this better than I, and I know Jerry often changed guitars throughout his career, but the way his guitar in the early years sounds pretty unique. From listening to recordings from DSO early shows and Dead early shows seems to be a clear distinction in guitar sound. I find the sound of Jeff's guitar when recreating other eras however is very much alike. Why is this the case? or am I imagining things?

Technology killed the early sound. I agree Mike that Jeff's sound doesn't change as much when he plays the different eras as I perceive Jerry's actually did, and I fucking love it. Jeff's sound, to me, has an early vibe to it no matter what year he plays. I was only lucky enough to catch the Dead from the mid 80s on, so I got electronically enhanced Jerry. Never been big on the special effects.
