Some Jamaica banter to start the tour and definitely pushing the island vibes at times throughout the night.

John Conti
It's been so long since I've posted that i "Feel Like a stranger" but after last nite I had to. Wowee! Loved every note! Maybe because I don't travel too far anymore to see the boys and girl, pretty much only see them in Colorado these days. Great venue, zero security issues, very MMJ friendly, didn't expect that. A high class place in a beautiful mountain village. Last time I saw DSO there they had Stu with them auditioning, maybe 200 people. But last nite it was closer to 500+ and still tons of room. No auditioning this time. Not sure why Kevin didn't sing Box but that boy laid down some bass all nite long. Great elective set lists as you can see from above. Palm Sunday, first time played? Cats was awesome, Visions of Johanna was just incredible. I'm not a huge fan of that tune but Jeff put us in that space where Jerry used to go on a good nite, a very deep rendition, possibly my fav of the nite. Great job guys, lights, sound, and musicians all top notch. I realized last nite that my love for this band will "Not fade Away" Lisa is the only original member from the first time I witnessed this magic back in"98. And this is as good as it's ever been. Forum MVP Supplicated Velvet Thunder Posted March 29, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2013 Ahhhhh its been too long! Eyes to OPEN!?! my goodness I didn't even think I remembered how to dance, jumping right into the groove there took a few sweet awakenings of adjustment and then we were all instantly transported to "THIS is the show" land and it was a beautiful night!!! The eyes was definately especially tropically infused and I made an inner decision to actually put forth effort to go to Jamaica next time. Jack straw was lovely and swoopingly captivating and one of the only things that could have felt right after that eyes. Push comes to shove was really rattling and shaking and rolling (stomping, too!) I was already feeling this was a setlist shiner of a show for me bit when all over now started I fell into giddy laughter mode and began a deep inner soul cleansing and release of California which was just what the doctor ordered. Silly, meaningful, magical music! Hahaha and then BLOW AWAY!!!! Um, could I have been in a more grateful state!?! I do prefer when Rob reallly takes it there with a rap, but I could feel it wasn't the time so I just enjoyed each minute of a song that this band has really made me fall in love with cause they just knock it out so wonderfully. Spells cast and lines released, old habits and new fire. Roll that *hit into one! Ok, ok, so they played stop my train after 'bama>music at my first show, so when they played it this night I took the unicorn hat off and let myself swoon. Stop that damn train already, I have a ticket! Really! Absolutely marvelous! These guys (and girl!) Know just how to touch my reality through my heart every time! And then this job I got gets a lil too hard and I go find my happy home. Its so good to be home in Colorado. I can't express in words how much this particular group of people means to me, buy I try to so it through dancing when we are all there together. Chuck n rick were at my first show in atlanta that I mentioned before and to see shows with them this weekend is about all this lil unicorn could ask for to be blessed with true happiness. There are a few conspicuous absenses on this run, but you are all here in spirit! Hehehe oh dear loose Lucy, what have u one now? I pondered infidelity on a very deep level while dancing in ridiculous joy for this one and my conclusions included a new insight into why dishonesty is so treacherous, but how honesty cuts deeper and bleeds much more..... If the fruit ain't ripe..... I enjoy masterpiece on about any night, but this one brought extra smiles. Getting on to the end of first set so might as well couldn't have been better timed. Great dancing with the ladies crew just above the pit in front. We literally held the place together (there was a board loose where everyone put their hand walking inti the pit and it kept falling off so we helped) and had a ton of fun, too. Starting 2nd set w the wheel was deviously heaven sent and we rolled right into palm Sunday and Lisa made my heart spin. Oh, cats, tooooo fun, too fun. No tears for box, they came but I didnt let them fall, I danced instead and smiled through with the understanding that even if I don't know who put it there, I can appreciate it time and time again. Particularly favoring this playin, they really laid on the textural layers and I totally got a lil lost. Yay drums n space ( I used to think ppl were saying "drums in space" lol) and the help slip Frank delivery was phenomenal. Esp slippery and extra knotted. Visions was the.take home of the night. Jeff was lovely and those in the room that were bored and talking bc that's what the do when the music slows down quickly shut the f up when Jeff really got going and I was grateful for the bands ability to bend the room to their will. Great switch from sug mags to johnny b goode instead, was a great way to end this show. Werewolves in co is a tradition I am honored to enjoy. Thank you DSO and everyone at the show and the beautiful venue staff (one staff lady boogied harder than most aud members!) What a fun night! Stoked for acoustic tonight! Forum MVP August West Posted March 29, 2013 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2013 Not sure why Kevin didn't sing Box but that boy laid down some bass all nite long. Great elective set lists as you can see from above. Palm Sunday, first time played? RB has been singing Box for awhile now. Palm Sunday has been played before. If my memory serves me they performed it as a Filler electric, (NW show last year???) and also at an acoustic show. The Eyes right out of the gate sure made Vegas a happy camper. Can't wait till a month of shows in May!!

Vegas was in the house? he's usually pretty easy to spot, soaking wet and dancing like nobodies watching.
