Fri Jun 28 - Mishawaka Amphitheatre [bellvue, CO]

Sat Jun 29 - State Bridge Lodge [bond, CO]

Sun Jun 30 - State Bridge Lodge [bond,CO]

These shows are on my radar ... both  venues are very cool !!! the Mish is special to me , was disappointed that the show was moved due to fire last year , mother nature and most likely some careless people to blame ... glad the place is back up and running !!!

If you've never been to a Dewey Beach show , you should get a , " What Not To Do In Dewey Beach List  " , from the more experienced Dewey Beach show attendees here ;)  ... but if you grab a hotel room across the street like I do , and mind your busness like I do , no loud patying outside the venue after the show , and I mean ANYWHERE outside the venue in Dewey Beach  , you'll be alright !!!

Im hoping they plug some dates in between july 8th-20th. Like maybe indianapolis cincinatti louisville. Id hit any or all of those

I don't know.  If they fill those dates thats 7 straight weeks on the road.  It seems like most of their tours are 3,4, or 5 weeks.  I hope your right as I am off work the 8th-14th.

Uh Oh......Mike your words worry a bit!!    I got two nights there, booked a hotel very close, at least a cab ride away?    Hotels are not cheap, but oh well.  The venue looks small , but said had outdoor bar, so I was think some dancing room?

ya know, thinking about this brings me back to one of the most epic of shows, which so happened to occur the day after said unfortunate event. Fleeing the Dewey area early in the AM, the Hypnotist Collector and I made our way to Atlantic City....

Show: 1836 • 08/06/2010 Hilton Atlantic City, Atlantic City, NJ Original Setlist Set One: Here Comes Sunshine > Walk In The Sunshine ; New Speedway Boogie ; Hard To Handle ; Big Iron > Cumberland Blues ; Lazy River Road ; Passenger ; The Harder They Come

Set Two: Around And Around > Sitting On Top Of the World > Why Don't We Do It In The Road > In The Midnight Hour ; Crazy fingers > Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks) > Drums > Space > The Other One (1st verse) > Standing On The Moon > The Other One (2nd verse) > Tangled Up In Blue

Encore: Run Mary* ; One More Saturday Night
Notes: * Original tune by Dark Star Orchestra and Robert Hunter

Now if you haven't been to the AC Hilton, you should know that it's one of the best places to see DSO ever. It was not crowded that night, but I have the feeling that even with a sold out show there would be plenty of room there. The staff is so nice there, generally amused by our freakish dancing and antics. The whole place is carpeted- seats(fold up I think? didn't sit at one lol) in the main front section, and a huge back area, seemingly there for dancing. At first there was just a few of us....the ambassador Mr. Vegas leading the way.  One by one many more leaked back until the entire rear corning was a beautiful spinning frenzy. Tangled up in Blue and Run Mary in particular are still some of my most memorable dancing memories.

Show contained many highlights...namely the 'Hard to Handle'(still fairly new at this time), Big Iron(DSO speciality), Harder they Come(that was out of left field!), and the whole second set which was presented in a fun and unique fashion. I still remember sitting at setbreak with our backs on the ground and our legs up the wall(still a strategy I use at setbreak sometimes, really turns your world around...)....Vegas saying, in his fine southern accent, "I think Prone is the way to go"...

....In reality, we were Supine....just sayin', Chuck...

.....ahh the memories....when's the next show??? Oh right, LA in 9 days!!!

Big Iron was dedicated to Herdy that night, as it was his first show back from his health scare at the Ledges that year. We were hanging up front when Eaton sent it out to him. We then made our way to the back and joined the rest of the crew. Great, great show, one that will be forever etched in my mind. And your right Aaron, one of the best group dances we've ever had. Although at Penns Peak there have been some good ones. Where the fuck is Vegas anyway?? Oh thats right he gave up posting for Lent. He'll be back on Monday to chime in on this I'm sure.

On another note, no Hilton this year. We're back at the HOB. LOVED the Hilton! Although they also did a show at the HOB Showboat that cracks my top 10. It was a show in 2005, they did a 79' Garden show, and it was killer. How do you go wrong with Scarlet > Fire > Estimated > Eyes? RB wasn't permanent yet back then, but he sat in for that show. The HOB in AC is fine but pales in comparision to the Hilton, which is one of my favorite East Coast venues.

Up and down your carpeted halls.

We were kind of dorsal recumbent or in a modified lithotomy.

This show is absolutely one of the best I have been privileged to share with people I love with all my heart. Two of my best DSO experiences (out of probably way too many) have been in AC, the other being that '05 show. Second set opened with Scar>Fire>Estimated>Eyes. Miss you, James!

Francis gave me a special dispensation to make this post. Later, all y'all.
