ducats
rock all night. but since when did the band decide the dividing line! the Shea (no booze at all) was the worst venue I've ever been to, but i would have glady sat in the hall and kept a tight grip on my booze-if they only had any. and the venues that do sell but don't allow (PAC in Englewood used to be like that but i think has since changed?) inside are a thing of my past as well. no booze at a rock n roll show - what are u kids thinking. Forum MVP nwnj steve Posted December 7, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 I thought the crowd was so freakin into that show that night and no freakin drunks banging into us and screaming in our ears ,tripping on bottles and all that good stufffff
reckoning
Nothing wrong with lower chakra shit. The kundalini energy originates at the base of spine....hello pigpen!?!?!? Raw and primal. It's not the booze to blame, it's the mindset. The majority of show goers can go to a show, have a drink or two and dance their hearts out. With keeping their "upper chakras" intact and open. Personally, I think the ideal situation is having alcohol allowed at shows but off the dance floor. If you go to the right places, that will naturally happen. Because of the mindset of the crowd. Forum MVP gr8fulpair Posted December 7, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 You can drink any time. You only get to see DSO every now and again. Like my boy Jammin on the One says, "we have to suffer for our music".......

Taper Ron
since when did the band decide the dividing line! Do you really think the band decides whether or no alcohol will be served? I think it is sad that you have to have alcohol to have fun? r u going to try and tell me the "grooviest" crowds you've had the pleasure of rocking all night with were at dry venues? Maybe not "grooviest" but certainly less obnoxious. I don't know about upper or lower chantra shit, I DO know about being puked on And having dumb fucks up in my face! franknkeene
even though kundalini is not linear, I think booze does cloud. My experience is that the release of stress is so rapid with a few brews and an evening of music and dance. I see it as 1 step down and 2 steps up over time. Some of my yoga fiends would disagree with this but it works for me. moderation is the key. I have begun my work day after a night of DSO and 4 or 5 hours sleep with much more energy than a normal 8. Just last week I was in NYC for some training. the wednesday morning after only 4 hours sleep after seeing Neil Young and Crazy Horse at Madison Square Garden I solved all the problems that I felt were impossible the day before. kundalini is very mysterious. jamminOnThe1
Get to the venue a few hours early, go by a local pub and slam a few beers. Or pack a cooler......I'm kind of relieved when I don't have the temptation to spend $8 on a draft beer...then waste time in the bathrooms after i've had about

Forum MVP Tea Posted December 7, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 No booze allowed?.....meh. You don't want to know what I would do to see a DSO show.....no really, you don't. I've got some stories about my recent NYC / Best Buy jaunt that did not deter me from my DSO experience. Bruised ribs and a knot on the head for starters. Review of the shows and my crazy ride to come. Damn work - not even time to pee.
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted December 7, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 "a politician ofcourse" How does that make him any different from any other person with a problem who chose poorly one night and subsequently paid a heavy price? Oh yes, that's right - his price was paid on a far more public stage than would have been the case for most of us here. I probably should not have mentioned the incident at all. But it came to mind because in my opinion it is a very good example of why alcohol should be kept off the dance floor, and that goes double for its end byproduct. Taper Ron
Well, ducats, before you nit pic my typographic errors you better try spell check! < exclamation. The man lost his career and was humiliated on national TV ( Jay Leno, et al). No more needs to be said! Forum MVP Supplicated Velvet Thunder Posted December 8, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 8, 2012 Baited! On the hook..... Raw and primal is delicious, confused and stumbiling from alcohol overstimulating that vibe is gross. Totally agree on just keeping off the dance floor. Ducats, I just can't find a reason why alcohol is needed. I honestly go to 90% of shows sober and this music gets me soooo high and makes all of my chakras zing around so hard I so believe I know a lil something u may never know..... All that aside, I want a beer
Forum MVP Island Bro Posted December 8, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 8, 2012 Jesus,,,if no one else is going to mention it, I'll just say that good old fashion marijuana can be a rather natural fit when grooving to GD music. The alcohol talk is fine but might as well balance things out here... And not to mention, a room full of trippers can be a rather fun and enlightening experience...I mean, back in '67, they didn't call these gatherings the "Budweiser test"....let's not forget our history of what this music is steeped in. And at the same time, to each his own and live and let live...

All that aside, I want a beer i like to kid (sarcastically if u can believe it!) that i don't trust a person that doesn't drink and that nobody likes a (AA) quitter. i couldn't care less what anybody does (given certain parameters ie. pissing that really doesn't even fit in the conversation) or doesn't do at a show, as long as they respect my desire to be treated in kind. Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted December 8, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 8, 2012 Well, since the Shea is the worst venue you have ever endured there should be no problem with adding it to the places that are in your past. And I doubt that anyone cares about what you do inside any more than you care about what others do (within certain parameters such as pissing or yelling "fire" in a crowded theater). If the house has other rules that cramp your style that might narrow your options to either attend anyway or not. But society all too often confronts us with such choices. Good conversation! Glad to know we always make it back to our true lower chakra priorities hehehe My corporate lawyer brother always said he didn't trust me cause I don't drink enough.... I am stoked I never got date raped or forced myself on anyone which is the SAS story of most women I know w alcohol issues.... Addiction is scary whether its alcohol, sex, drugs or music.... Our scene is made of all the pieces and I love every single one and enjoy seeing all of our states of progress and debauchery align in frenzied heavenly flailing. Let's go!
