Excited for another 4 night DSONYE Run!!!

We have all of our hotels booked for the NYE Run, and are extremely excited for two nights at the Woodbury hotel from the DSO website. I was wondering if anyone has any room offerings for Baltimore or Philidelphia? We booked some cheap hotels just outside of town (which can be cancelled), but are always interested in hanging out with DSO family and giving some of our cash to a better cause!!

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for things to do before the Rams Head or Electric Factory shows? We were only in Baltimore for a few hours when we saw DSO play there several years ago, and have never been to the Electric Factory, so we hope to make the most of it!!

Excited to see some familiar faces out there in a few weeks!! Much Love Everyone!! :580:

Walking around the inner harbor in Baltimore is great during the day. I recommend getting some md crab cakes... the best thing you'll ever eat, I guarantee it :) there are tons of great food place. just don't pick a chain... eat local. I grew up in Baltimore and I do not recommend walking around town at night. no bueno. you can wander around powerplant for a bit before you head into rams head.. that's a safe area.. but powerplant is also an area where super drunk local college kids go to drink. I don't care for it. there can be a heavy cop presence outside of powerplant but its mostly to keep riff raff out and drunk kids in.

I got nothin for ya regarding the e factory... not my hood :)

And the Factory is in the hood. Not a lot in the immediate neighborhood but an adjacent restaurant/bar. Get the hell out after the show.

Plus one on the Baltimore aquarium and food options in the harbor. Watching the incredibly drunk underdressed folks (especially the chicks in their little black dresses) stumbling around in the near arctic cold after everyone gets out of their respective shows is mildly amusing. Just don't hang around too long.

The bar next to the Factory closed down last year, so unless something else opened up in its place, don't count on drinking 'til you get inside. I love the Factory. Straight up Philly. Dark, grimy and sticky along the edges, but it has great sound, very good dancing space (depending on how crowded it is, of course), and, judging from last year - no curfew for the band. Every dso Philly show I've been to has been nothing short of outstanding. But, yeah, it's not one of Philadelphia's finer sections.

For crab cakes in Baltimore, I suggest Ocean Pride... it's a lil drive from Ram's Head, but worth it...

The Baltimore Aquarium is AWESOME as well as the Maryland Science Center.. both a little pricy, but well worth the price of admission!

Like Jenna says... I got nothin for Philly.. not my hood...

We're staying at Mount Vernon Hotel in Baltimore and Comfort Inn Downtown/Historic Area in Philly so we could just walk to venues. Hopefully we'll be safe with that considering what has been said previously (though we walked when at the Klein a couple of years ago and everyone said we were crazy, but had no problems) and would be cool if other heads are at these as well.

Thank you Ticket Master for all that you have done. I realize it was difficult and praise you for your time and efforts. For this, I will be forever grateful. Thank you again as I now have plans for the last 2 nights of 2012.

If you have the day to occupy, the Philadelphia Museum and Zoo are not far. But if you just want a cool place where you don't have to pay a fee to enter and where there is food and people watching try the Reading Terminal (inside http://www.readingterminalmarket.org/) and Italian Market (outside http://italianmarketphilly.org/)

Also, when you get close to Electric Factory you will run into folks waving you to the parking lot, but it's not the real parking lot. They send you down a street about a block away where overflow eventually has to go. But if you get there at a reasonable time ignore these folks and keep driving. Lot is small but fenced and secure and having a discrete beverage is not frowned upon.

When in Philly make sure you have cash for a cab, just in case.

  • 2 weeks later...

The bar next to the EFactory is open. The place has always been a spot filled with revolving ownership.

The lot, and the entire street along the lot, is a big party after the show. It looked/looks like a damn circus... that many balloons, everywhere.

this show was killer last night!

i'll continue this rant elsewhere. check it out!
