Not a big surprise here. Great reviews from this show - one of JK's finest efforts to date according to many.
Forum MVP Dstone5553 Posted December 26, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 26, 2012 I had a blast at this show. I flew into the NYC area to visit two of my bros, check out their digs and spend time with their families and the timing of those shows made that weekend a perfect time to check out the new/old Capital Theater, which is like 20 minutes from their homes. I gotta say...the place is fucking incredible. The one thing that matters to me more than anything else when it comes to a venue is sound. I'd rather see a band play at Auschwitz than on the shores of the French Riviera if it had better sound (even by a little). And this place is phenomenal. The strange thing about this venue is you don't seem to have to sacrifice any sound being up front. I have never been at a place where you don't have to make that sacrifice if you are up close. But at this place, you didn't. I swear. It was beyond strange. I saw the Thurs, Fri and Sun shows and spent Sat having dinner and hanging out with the fathers and sons (one of my favourite Hemingway stories btw). While the first two shows were kind of throwaways for me, the last one above was a powerhouse. Anyone who lives within driving distance of Port Chester should absolutely make a point to check this place out. Please take that advice from Dstone5553, even if you don't listen to him on most days. It's a special building.
