Got to check out the John K Band for the first time tonight, after missing several opportunities in the past. I had a super good time and was very impressed musically. JK put together a cool little JGB-esque band that fits perfectly with his quirky nature. Musically its a blend of JK's solo material, played through the lens of JGB with some hints of Phish here and there. John was extra smiley and chatty at the show, in a way i've rarely experienced with him before. His band consisted of a Saxophone player(along with other wind and reed instruments), drummer, percussion(katy, JK's wife), back up vocalist(lady from reflections), keys, bass, and of course JK on guitar.

well, no Russian Lullaby but still a great show. beautiful So Many Roads, good to hear that one. Really enjoyed the three tracks I knew from JK's old solo cd 'acoustic shareware'(or something like that) 'sister smiles', 'its alright', and 'what's become of mary. oh, and let's not forget the stellar version of catfish john.

in a way it felt like the first time seeing john play since his last show with buffalo in 2009. I dig what he is doing and I'll be back for me.
