Forum MVP Mango Posted September 15, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 15, 2012 Got to check out the John K Band for the first time tonight, after missing several opportunities in the past. I had a super good time and was very impressed musically. JK put together a cool little JGB-esque band that fits perfectly with his quirky nature. Musically its a blend of JK's solo material, played through the lens of JGB with some hints of Phish here and there. John was extra smiley and chatty at the show, in a way i've rarely experienced with him before. His band consisted of a Saxophone player(along with other wind and reed instruments), drummer, percussion(katy, JK's wife), back up vocalist(lady from reflections), keys, bass, and of course JK on guitar. set1 second that emotion sister smiles givin me the business bean-o american spring It's alright Catfish John complicated set2 After Midnight your mileage may vary(?) desert trance what's become of mary free walking in your footsteps so many roads(!!!!) feel like dynamite life is a carnival well, no Russian Lullaby but still a great show. beautiful So Many Roads, good to hear that one. Really enjoyed the three tracks I knew from JK's old solo cd 'acoustic shareware'(or something like that) 'sister smiles', 'its alright', and 'what's become of mary. oh, and let's not forget the stellar version of catfish john. in a way it felt like the first time seeing john play since his last show with buffalo in 2009. I dig what he is doing and I'll be back for me. setlist courtesy of Kyle
