Forum MVP Rude Posted September 4, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 4, 2012 1st I just want to say thanks to DSO for putting this awesome fest together. Just about everyone I talked to said this is the most fun they had at a fest. It was like our own private festival. From a fans perspective this was the perfect number of people. You could walk right up to the front without any problems. From DSO's perspective they would have loved several thousand more peeps. The camping spots on the ridge were awesome about 500 feet from the stage!. Great views and a great breeze all fest. Awesome cool neighbors too. We parked literally 200 feet from our camp spot in the venue. You couldnt have asked for easier access. Not sure why anyone would want to car camp. Im glad I didnt spend the extra on VIP because you got all you wanted from regular tix. Actually regular tix had the best camp spots. The weather was no issue at all except for the last night canceling about 1:15 or so of the show. Yes it rained but not til like 2:45 each night after most were retiring to their shelters. Luckily we had a big sturdy tent so we had no issues with the rain. Awaking on Saturday to hear that the main stage was closed was a bummer. We werent sure why after looking at the stage that they couldnt have put wood or blocks under the scaffolding to secure the stage. I actually liked the lights for the DSO saturday show better. It was a groovy feel. It did suck not being able to see Mickey play on a bigger stage with the real sound and you couldnt see him playing in the VIP tent either with the crowds. On Sunday I was really hoping that DSO would switch time slots with someone because I knew the rain would likely come late like it did each night., That was an amazing smoking 1st and part of 2nd set. They announced that if the cell came by quickly, which it did, that they would resume playing. I saw them removing tarps and ran down only do see them bid us goodnight. It was so sad to see it over a little too early. I was curious to see if they have done like a 3 hour 2nd set or something insane!!! Overall amazing time. Bands started down to the minute before the rain got there Saturday. No lines at vendors to their dismay but not mine, never a line at bathroom, great food, awesome people, great time, great music!!!
