Forum MVP Supplicated Velvet Thunder Posted July 4, 2012 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 Cool venue on the ski slope with nice little vending area and very relaxed vibes. Even got my crystals out for the first time since I hopped on with Mango and got a groovy geology lesson from a retired prof the likes of which I had missed these last few months attending as simply a willing participant instead of as a carnival personality and it is marvelous to be back in action. Jubilee here we come! Anyways, THIS SHOW WAS FREAKIN AWESOME and if we hadn't driven straight to state bridge afterwards from no cell service to even less cell service I would have posted setlist and a review right away to celebrate its greatness! Especially cause they finally played what the setlist said for an original instead of changing it hehe. Ok so from the start mighty quinn had everyone jumping and dancing and the samson just made it a frenzy. ALTHEA was, as Rob B stated away from the mic after the song "beautiful" in every way. SOOOOO slow and meaningful and heartfelt in so many ways just a real piece of musical magic for us all to swoon over. mama's big river made all semblance of control opaque and therefore all the energies in the room really connected and every foot was shuffling and hopping off the ground in complete jubilant glee. BEW and Cassidy were both mighty fine, but the Roses was truly divine. Just made every hair on my skin tingle and every drop of water in my body vibrate from the quietly solemn yet never restrained loving energy flowing from the stage over the crowds heads, forming that perfect rose in each of our eyes. Let it be known that by BIODTL I was still assuming this was a late 80s or more likely a 90s show. Rueben and Music worked together like long lost lovers and sent the crowd into set break with quite a lot to talk about..... yum! Foolish Heart into Stranger to open was EXACTLY what I needed. JUST PERFECT. Both Rob B and Jeff were on another planet during their solos and there is no way I will ever connect to these two songs more than I did in this moment, this night. I could barely hold onto the ground with my feet and I made no effort to keep my head as at this point it looked like it was only going to get stranger. Sweet. Jeff's she belongs to me (finally remembered the name for my setlist without asking someone I always forgot before) is just amazing and this may have been the best I've seen. He's gone oh my goodness that was one for the records just oh so special and delicious and I felt my face almost give into tears when they really got it going. danced all the way through drums into space cause the energy was just so damn high and I was in the front desperately trying to not get moshed out. some drunk local kids showed up about here (there had been some COOL local NOT drunk kids up front first set that were so awesome to watch dancing and getting SO INTO IT!) and started moshing on everyone, young and old, girls and boys, and it was disgraceful, not to mention painful. Mango finally left the area but I just couldn't, there was no where else for me to go (place was packed at this point) and the band was really scraping my heart out at this proximity so I danced through each song and only spoke to them during the silent moments with choice words. usually I walk away or just dance it off, but this time I was forced to speak and a mutual friend told me the next day that THE DRUNK GIRLS AND BOYS WERE VERY SORRY THEY WERE SO RUDE TO ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND THE FRONT, THEY GOT TOO WASTED TO KNOW BETTER. hehe. at least we got a belated apology Miracle was so much fun and I swear I felt so freakin high on the music at this point (sober night, loves) that I was watching rainbows leaping off of the bands heads and hands into the air like static electric sparks. so cool! gdtrfb happened in a most delicious transition that jeff left so ambiguous and then brought home so hard. around and around and they NEVER STOPPED ROCKIN!!!!! Black Muddy River just as I was left alone in the front to battle the drunk girls that made fun of me and elbowed me the entire song but I just closed my eyes and tuned my heart and crystal to Jeff's beautiful sounds and I found a song of my my own, oh yes I did. Goosebumps remembering this show. Mango only realized it was an original and not a 90s show when we were in the car on the way to state bridge and I told him there were no changes. Cool, we had each been fooled on this run. No Lisa makes it much easier for them to fool us hehe.

Helps you on your path? Man, Eaton, the three of you are musically unstoppable!! As long as you are there to mediate their mad genius and channel those streams into the one great giant flooding river that is floating us all to new lands I think we will all arrive in the promised land as destined. Thanks for helping Jeff and Rob B on their path, and thank you all of DSO for illuminating ours.
