Connor
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone (or Kevin himself) can point me in the righr direction in achieving the tone he has. Currently my setup consists of simply an ibanez 6 string bass, an Eden WT1205 amp, and an Eden D410XLT (same as Kevin's) cab. I know my amp is different, but I was still hoping it would be possible to come close to that Phil Lesh sound. If anyone can give me some tips it'd be appreciated. That setup with Ken Smith Slick Round strings and the right pick will do a great job of getting Phil's 1990-2012 tone. The ideal pick is a fairly thick graphite model, like either of these, depending on which feel you prefer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TELEFUNKEN-Graphite-Guitar-Pick-1-6mm-Triangle-shaped-/280762806694?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item415ec471a6 http://www.ebay.com/itm/TELEFUNKEN-Graphite-Guitar-Pick-2mm-Bag-of-6-Picks-/280782396635?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item415fef5cdb The triangle ones get a little closer to his modern tone, the 2.0mm ones will do a better job of Phil's earlier tones.
