Figures... 83 shows are my favorite to see DSO do, besides electives... I was on my way up to the Peak, and blew a radiator hose near the MD-PA line... waited almost an hour and a half for my AAA tow truck to come, by the time he got there, and had my truck towed to the nearest auto parts store, it was way to late for me to get back on the road and go see the show...

soooo bummed :(

Sorry for the tribulations Herd :( . That slice of 'Life' seems to surface at very inopportune moments. I missed all of Jazzfest in 1996 for mechanical reasons and got stranded in Mississippi (7th layer of hell) for almost 3 days!

The band will help deliver you musical salvation on your next spin. Glad you're safe.

When I met up with Mango outside of the Arcata show in the ticket line but we didn't dance together (as it had always been in our friendship) until the next night when we became inseparable I had no idea it would be at Penns Peak when we would finally not dance beside each other again like old times...... all I had to do was turn around...........

What a way to go out. Mango loves his wang dang and at least Found was there to to celebrate the wonderfulness a few people back from me so I could feel Mango back there grapevining his way into delight for the night. Me, RAIL RATS UNITE! The kind strangers around me in the front kept EVERY annoying person away from me all night long and there is no WAY anyone could ever make me leave the front as long as the vibes are good and they were GREAT!!!!

Sweeping jack straw, despicably brilliant loser, cowboy delights, and then Birdsong to make sure everyone knew this was the real stuff..... by Bucket I obtained more evidence that JM is a guitar alien sent to transmit our brainwaves of joy directly into his guitar where he uses his digital probers to create the exactly proper formula that will bring chaos as close to order as it should ever be allowed to go.... how the rest of the band keeps their brains intact up there playing with him I do not know but down in the crowd it is IMPOSSIBLE. CRACKED the heck open every time!!! ENJOYING THE RIDE YES SIR!

DSO can play me Day Job whenever it's freakin fun! They knew they were killing it when the crowd was THAT into it by the end, we knew they were killing it because we couldn't breathe for dancing so hard.

China>Rider to send us back west and miracle bertha to make sure those people who kept me from this music so long can really feel my energy that when I said DSO was coming and would set me free I MEANT it.... getting slammed by a window and busting my lip as I awoke yesterday morning really had me thinking about that hard run from the window and I really had to move..... well played all around, my dear favorite band.

China Doll was really different and creepier instead of swoony and intense instead of lyrical and I think it was my favorite I have ever seen (esp because I have seen some let down ones from both of my fave 'jerry guys' but not lately) and I keep trying to stay in that moment even today cause it was so profound.

Danced up front all the way thru drums and the jammy goodness leading into st stephen and when the bald dad to my left there with his teenage daughter looked down at me as he realized what they were about to play with that sage look of deep knowing and simultaneous satisfaction of knowing his child would experience it in this manner will NEVER leave my mind. we both just nodded at each other. oh yes. by throwing stones she threw her arms around her dad, stood on her tippy toes and planted a big wet one on his cheek in gratitude and I GOT TO SEE IT and that made my show. it was her birthday. before I had even known that i had given her my jerry hand pin cause it was her first show and i didn't have any crystals left to give. good stuff

Throwing Stones and touch were expected and welcomed and holy crap the band delivered such a monstrous performance!

Johnny be good indeed.....

first train to cry I think for me and the sailor saint is always what I want (especially as a filler, hehehe THANK YOU so fun!) and like a road I had just said never particularly struck me (I had said I 'didn't really like' but that means what i just said) so thanks

GOT ME.

Colorado seems far away in some ways but it is just around the corner so for now I am just excited to take my Mango home and enjoy the russian river's lullaby.

My favorite people in the whole world are friends because of this band. I love each and every one of you SO MUCH!!!

KISSES AND HUGS TO YOU ALL! THANK YOU!

Thanks SVT for once again painting such a vivid picture of last night's show with your beautiful words! I dearly wish I had been there! It was so good to see you at a bunch of shows on this tour. Have a safe trip out west and best of luck with the new place. Oh, and I just have to tell you that Mango is certainly not alone in loving his wang dang. Most fellas I have ever met are totally in love with their wang dangs! ;)

You have unlocked the secret that should never have been revealed. QUICK > Back to CO before they find you even if you don't believe you've had enough! :)

You and Mango are freaking rock stars! Thanks for being there for those who can't! :grouphug:

AMEN to that!! I LOVE that tune, and I never really understood why it was hated so much... It's got a great beat, and while the lyrics might not be to everyone's amusement, I, particularly love it...

as a newbie to the peak, i was totally blown away by the spectacular views and the beautiful venue. dso, can you please play there all the time??? any way, the crowd was great i thought with tons of dancers and few talkers. i loved just looking around and seeing the looks of joy on everyone's faces. got to take my shoes off and spin and twirl to my hearts delight. made some new friends and enjoyed spending time with old friends. the community and family that this band creates is truly incredible. i love you all.

Favorite venue for DSO with AC Hilton coming in a close second. Let's do it again shall we? Mmmmm'kay

+1 on that!! Penn's Peak is definatly the top venue on the east coast for me, with AC Hilton coming in at a CLOSE second!!

Favorite venue in middle-america is the Fillmore, Denver... and the Fillmore in San Fran is definatly my favorite on the west coast... that place as so much electricity running through it, it's insane... I remember the first time I walked in the venue, I almost fell down due to the crazy electricity running around that place.. so many great shows were played there with so many fantastic (and deceased) musicians, I think the energy there never dissipates.. What'd I give to have enough $$ to get back there for the upcoming 2 shows to be played there in the fall..
