stlblues Posted May 14, 2012 Report Share Posted May 14, 2012 Bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn Passes On Donald "Duck" Dunn was a legendary bass player in R&B music and Rock & Roll. He was a session musician for Stax Records in the 60's and played bass for Booker T and the MG's. He played with Otis Redding at the Monterey International Pop Festival and became the foundation of the Blues Brothers Band led by John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd. He toured with the group and appeared in the film, The Blues Brothers. He became one of the most hotly sought after session bass players in Rock as well. Dunn was 70 when he was found dead in his sleep in a Tokyo hotel room. This video is Dunn with his longtime friend and musical partner Steve Cropper doing "Green Onion."
