Since Im new to this forum and have become a huge DSO fan, I just wanted to introduce myself. I luckily got to see the dead 5 times before Jerry passed--Buckeye lake in 94 and Memphis, Pitt, Deer Creek, and the Saturday Chicago show in 95. I saw DSO for the 1st time at the Vic in Chicago in 2011 and they were amazing. I got to see the St Louis and Nashville shows on this tour and am going to try to catch at least 5 shows a year from now on. I was just amazed at how good they were. They are like the Dead 2.0. :). I regret not taking a vacation and catching more shows on this Southbound tour. I live in Western Kentucky now and actually think DSO played here in Paducah around 5 years ago. We have an awesome new 50mil performing arts center, but the people here only want to see people like Larry the Cable Guy and think the Grateful Dead is devil music--actual quote from my grandmother lol. I guess I've rambled enough.

Welcome Aaron! I am glad to see that the DSO bug bit you hard enough to leave what sounds to me like a permanent mark. You might find that 5 show per year figure begain to climb as you begin to witness the depth that the band uses to express the sound of the good ole grateful dead. You may also find your travel epicenter begain to broaden as well.

You are checking in at a very good time based on how things are sounding lately. :) We are all in for a wonderful ride!

Welcome aboard! Trust me, if you think you're only gonna see 5 shows a year, you're sadly mistaken (in a good way!) I guarantee you those 5 shows a year will turn into 10+ a year. That's how it was for me. Back in 2000 I saw 3 shows, 2001 it was 15 shows, 2002 20 shows, 2003 25 shows, then 2004-2009 I was catching about 30-50 shows a year...

Once the bug bites you, you're screwed (again, in a good way)

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to plan for a couple of the VA shows since I have family in MD. I regret not seeing more Southbound shows, but I just bought a new house and my free money is going towards that. I did just buy an awesome new system so these DSO downloads sound awesome!!
