Forum MVP Evangeline Posted December 8, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 8, 2011 I actually think it was the Band's version that they performed: Evangeline She's on her own Just barely seventeen When she left home Don't know where she's been Or where she's going She is the queen of make-believe Evangeline
rowe
Evangeline was last in the rotation during the Fall of 2009 and was played at the Palace in Albany 0n 11/ 6 and at Higher Ground on 12/1. The Higher Ground version is on the archive and JK rips it. That was the Band version mentioned above. Speaking of the Palace...looks like an elective is out given last night (though you never know) and given what was played at the Klein last year (76) and the Palace last Fall (72), I'm calling late 80's/90 tonight and 76-78 with Lisa at the Palace. Please, pretty please...Lisa at the Palace See y'all there. Rowe
redeyedbert
That is the 2nd show I recall in the last 3 months that had a Visions and a California Earthquake in the same show. Me likes.

Still Truckin
It was the Los Lobos "Evangeline" that DSO covered - the Band version is the Hickory Hill one, Hidalgo /Perez penned the Queen of Make Believe version. It was the best tune of the night!

It was the best tune of the night! You are so correct Still Truckin'! My error--it is Los Lobos--not the Band. Thanks!
rowe
Yes thanks for the correction. I saw the lyrics and just went with what "Evangeline" said. In either case I love the way DSO does this..it just rips.
