Senator Franken Intros Dso

I talked to him before the show outside and recalled his 1980 RCMH bit about "if you kids don't quiet down we will have to leave the stage and the band will play", he was real nice, but what was the deal with "your gonna die in three days" directed toward Rob B. I'm sure it wasn't intentional and meant as a joke but all I could think was the GD keys hot seat and (((((Scott))))).

There is nothing sacred when it comes to humor IMHO! Lets face it, the GD have a terrible track record as far as keyboard players are concerned, but,

having been a member of that club, I'm not going anywhere and I didn't take any offense to it. I'm sure no disrespect was meant towards Scott's memory.

RB is right... while I thought it a bit weird the moment I heard it but it wasn't... I'm glad the Senator had a chance to naturally deliver the classic RCMH line.

When introducing the band, all I could think of is the classic Bill Graham One From The Vault intro... because of the H/S/F...

Franken and Davis did very irreverent type stuff way back when. I remember in particular a bit they did on SNL where Al was all bandaged up with a major head trauma injury and David had to keep jarring him to stay awake during the comedy bit. It was hularious! I think that the later SNL bit of Head Injury Harry must have had its genesis in this early bit. If you don't think Franken is funny, try reading Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot--that is quite amusing! Not to mention smart!
