Forum MVP Mango Posted November 19, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 19, 2011 Another strong show. Still lots of talkers yes but the earplugs help block them out. Highlight, for me, was a very powerful other one/stella blue out of space. As it goes we actually had a little space during these two. Prudence filler was a treat to cap the night. Stoked for #2000 today!
sakada
talkers AND standers tho, with bumpin' either while dancin', they seem go away..."you never see those people annnnnnywaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy !!!"
franknkeene
I had no comparison to the previous night in Boston so for me the 80's show "hit the spot". Back of the floor there were no talkers and plenty of dancing in the aisles and behind the divider. Even tho I didn't experience it, talkers are bad.. thanks to the bumpers on behalf of those who did. From the setlist page: One: Bertha > Greatest Story Ever Told ; Candyman ; Little Red Rooster ; Bird Song ; My Brother Esau ; Ramble On Rose ; It's All Over Now > Don't Ease Me In Two: China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Man Smart (Woman Smarter) ; He's Gone > Drums > Space > The Other One > Stella Blue > Sugar Magnolia Encore: U.S. Blues Yes....there was a Dear Prudence filler treat! Forum MVP found Posted November 21, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 I really, really liked this show. Especially the second set. The Bird Song in the first set had really good interplay between the band and went in some cool, interesting directions. The China>Rider second set opener was something else. The transition jam was fucking crazy. Eaton and Mattson were just going at it. Talk about dancing like a maniac... The Stella Blue was really not of this world. It was so over the top intense and played with such vehemence. The second solo was just really unbelievable and I'm so happy I was able to experience it in person. Major kudos to Jeff for that one. The Sugar Mags closer was a great feel good, danceathon way to end the set. Also, I know I said it in my Boston review but I just want to reemphasize it here. Kevin's bass playing sounds so good. His jamming fits so well with the rest of the band. Dear Prudence was a good filler choice and played extremely well. Wish it could have been 3 minutes longer but time constraints... oh well. This was a really great show and it was so fun to dance with my good friends.
