Forum MVP Ammagamalin Crew Posted November 7, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 7, 2011 Born Cross Eyed (w/ Dino English) November 5, 2011 @ Cosmic Charlies in Lexington KY Set 1: (10:30pm) Cold Rain and Snow Greatest Story Ramble on Rose BIODTL On The Road Again LOSER Tom Thumb's Blues Lazy River Road Brown Eyed Women Music Never stopped! (but it did for the set break) Set 2: Help>Slip> Franklins (probably the most intense slipknot they've pulled off in a while) Let It Grow West LA Fadeaway Me and My Uncle> Big River AFTER MIDNITE ( a little Eleanor in the lead)> SMOKESTACK LIGHTNING really deliberate and had everyone kicking their shoes off Drums (extended with Dino and Lee Owens on some kind of electronic beat player--- very industrial) Space> The Last Time Black Pedro US Blues Sister and Brothers Throwin' Stones> NFA One More Saturday Night! (3:15am) ( we got an extra hour of play time due the clocks being set back yoohoo!) BCE celebrates 20 years next month in Louisville which means the club will stay open until 4am, so we'll probably get another 3rd set like we did last month. It all started on December 11th 1991. It really is a nice bunch of people who gather once a month to dance and mingle.
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted November 7, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks! Sounds like a total blast! Love the fall back extra hour. But why did so many people wait so long to take their shoes off? They would have had me at "Well..." And a good industrial drums - hell yes! Forum MVP Ammagamalin Crew Posted November 7, 2011 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 7, 2011 It was one of those slow, soulful smokestacks that took it all into the bluest of blues.. It was a dancing bear event right from the opening notes of Cold Rain! And I'm finally getting to know Lazy River a little better, never quite got all the subtle lyrics when JG was doing it in coliseums, ect... Forum MVP 2muchfun Posted November 7, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 7, 2011 I was in the "hood" so I stopped in to catch these guys (have seen BCE 4 or 5 times w/o Dino). A fun time...after all it was another Saturday night...uh huh! As for the band and music.....at the risk of dating myself...."easy to dance to, I'll give it a 98" For you younger heads that was how they rated records (45's) on American Bandstand Unmentioned was the When Push Comes to Shove soundcheck....for the record
LeeOwen
We're thinking there was a Hey Pocky Way between Lazy River and Brown Eyed. Thanks for coming down and thanks to Dino for sitting in with us!

Forum MVP Ammagamalin Crew Posted November 10, 2011 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 10, 2011 Right before the Hey Pocky Way a woman came up to me a said "I wish they'd play Hey Pocky Way" and just as the cosmos like to line up these days, the band went right into it!
