Forum MVP Ammagamalin Crew Posted September 8, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 8, 2011 John Kahn Band May 5, 1996 @ Santa Cruz opens with The Way You Do the Things You Do. found it on sugarmegs.org. This must have been shortly before he passed. Doesn't list the members, so if anyone has this info, I'm interested to see who John played with after Jerry passed. sakada
i downloaded this, too.... here is the info i have.... As far as I know this is the only recorded show of John's solo band, maybe the only gig (although Melvin Seals said in an interview that another date was immediately scheduled because the first night sold out). It's never been up on etree before today, which surprises me, since other than a few obvious glitches, it's a very good concert. After John's death only a few weeks later, this band continued touring as the JGB with Melvin as the front man. Forum MVP Ammagamalin Crew Posted September 9, 2011 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 9, 2011 Thank you! Nobody has come close to the bass playing of the mighty Kahn! Just watched JGB @ The Warfield last night and John has a big solo in Lazy Bones which I had forgotten about. Jerry is all smiles as John keeps it going and going and going....4/23/93 Set # 2 is an amazing video shot from the front row with these wild close ups of Jerry and John and Jerry ripps up Money Honey and tears through a Reubin then there is the spooky Senor.
