Forum MVP John A Posted August 13, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 13, 2011 I have really been grooving on this. Sonically, it speaks to '82 perfectly. If that makes sense. The Jerry/Bobby/Brent vocal interplay in Shakedown is just exquisite. And then the jam? As the kids say today, OMG! And don't miss Bobby's subtle yet emphatic, "Well, listen!" before the "It's alright 'cause I love you" verse in Looks Like Rain. Highly recommended release. Great filler from 4/5 as well. I wish, however, that they didn't add "filler" from 4/5/82 at the end of discs 1 and 2. The second set from 4/6/82 is split between discs 1 and 2, interrupted by a few non-consecutive songs from the frist set on 4/5. While the world has bigger problems than this (quick, name three!), I prefer listening to shows in the order they were performed, even though the boys at Rhino probably meant their level best when they substituted their own judgment for how the shows should have been ordered. Forum MVP John A Posted August 23, 2011 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 23, 2011 Arm, I don't recall filler on disc 1 - isn't that the complete 4/6 set? The filler on disc 2 makes sense in that if they were to split the second set at drums there is room for the taking. No need to waste it. And since the 2nd set won't fit on a single CD they had to split it somewhere, and no better place than after drums.

The sound on this road trip is awesome. One listen and I was impressed.
Forum MVP cm_hayden Posted August 26, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 26, 2011 I ordered it because of the recommendations of all three of you. Up until now I haven't order this series because most have already been Charlie Miller-ized.
Forum MVP Dstone5553 Posted August 29, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 29, 2011 Looking foward to listening to it myself. It's almost next on the spindle. I was torn regarding ordering it cause we have a great board as it is...but I couldn't help myself. Gald to hear people are giving it a thumb's up. You won't be sorry! Strange Other One between Truckin' and Dew. It comes out of a truncated Truckin' jam, is only the 2nd verse, and lasts about 3 minutes. Odd.
