Guest Lisacat
I've listened to a couple snippets of shows here and there over the last several weeks and without sounding like an ass kisser, I just wanted to comment how incredibly impressed I am with what I am hearing. Its been interesting for me over the last year as I haven't been consistently seeing DSO like when I was on the east coast and I don't normally listen to recordings in between. I've seen the band many many times over the last 6 years and I've seen more ups than downs. I thought 07-08 was huge- lots of momentum. I know it got tough at the end of 09 and 2010 was a year of adjustment. I saw a few really fantastic shows in '10 and I also struggled with some in all honesty. (though I can't really blame all of that on the music...I was going through a lot of transition myself) With that said, they blew me away on west coast tour out here in the spring- probably the strongest tour on a whole I've seen since Feb 09. And what I am listening to now sounds perhaps even better. I love when I can listen to a show and feel the energy and spirit coming through the speakers- I've gotten chills a few times listening to this Springfield show. What a great feeling. The growth I've seen/heard with Jeff in lead is huge. Like I said, it felt rocky to me at first but man that's all over now. There's such a freedom in the notes being played and barriers broken down with the new material that has been introduced. I feel like it could go anywhere, and it has. Between the early shows, Rob B belting out tunes like Hey Jude, Lisa on harp, Kevin's new bass, and the TN material- its a true breath of fresh air. I'm overwhelmed with happiness for the band... its nice to watch it unfold so beautifully. Thanks boys and gal. See you soon
