Captain Zap
So ... I love Amsterdam, who doesn't? Right? Anyway, it is months away, just wanted to get a sense for who is going? I am a seasoned HollandHead ... really looking forward to seeing many of you out there on the other side of the world ... Just hoping to open some dialog and see where it goes ... and Icons not yet created!!!! Got my tickets planned ... bed and breakfast booked ... don't know if I'll need it ... and all the spots picked out ... (Still chilly in March ... but the love of this group will certainly warm any cockle in any heart) ..... see some of you there! CZ
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted July 13, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 13, 2011 Haven't missed DSO there yet, and don't want to see the string broken. So fingers are crossed and prayer wheels are spinning. May need to light a few votive candles and invoke some Santaria mojo just to cover all the bases. And thanks for the GFest pics, CZ. - My fav icon, along with this one...

Guest VincentPuleo
hmmm... how long has DSO been doing this? Seeing them in the Netherlands sounds too good to be true.

They were there in '07 and '08. I don't think there was a JiTD in '09 or this year, and they weren't there in '10. Looking forward to '12!! Go if you can - it is just exactly perfect... Guest Lisacat
I think its a whole lot of fun to go once, but to be honest, if I'm going to sit on a plane for 8 hours (well 13+ for me now) and lay down a whole lot of cash, I want more than 3 2-hour sets. If it were ever to happen, I would strongly consider doing a run of shows in other EU cities that weren't a part of the festival. There are a lot of folks that show up for the festival from the states, so it doesn't feel much different than a show here. But it is a cool city, and if you've never been there, a load of fun to experience. I guess I don't get into the novelty of coffeeshops so much either so that is not a huge draw for me. If you go, I'd suggest tacking on a few days in another city before or after the run. Seeing the band outside of its normal tour itinerary in a new place is always fun.... the wild wild west tour and this upcoming Alaska run comes to mind. And naturally, next on the agenda should be a 5 night run in Hawaii.
