I suppose "Road to Nowhere" by Talking Heads would be gauche, but honestly I have found them to be good for highway tunes.

Aside from that, may I recommend:

I think you will recognize a few of the tunes...cheers.gif

Lately, all my road trips seem to kick off with "The Last Waltz." In the interest of full disclosure, I don't typically make it through the entire set; I usually stop around "Helpless" on disc two because I need to keep the juices flowing.

From there, a select Dead show from 1972 almost always comes next.

One of the last two Doors studio albums always makes its way in. "L.A. Woman," perhaps?

good call on the band...rock of ages has all my faves on it. as i am going thru the "b" section of the collection, im thinking the bad livers, get a little bit of the spirit in me before the bacchanalia begins. also bob dylan highway 61 and blond on blond. oh shit, cant forget the blasters and the bluesbreakers. i might not make it out of the b's. i wish the ride was longer.
