Forum MVP acududeman Posted June 14, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 14, 2011 Well, I've got 2 dogs in this fight.....I suppose my chances for a positive outcome are 25%. My hometown team, the Gamecocks of South Carolina, are defending their title. And Vanderbilt (my alma mater) is in Omaha for the first time. Vandy is fielding a team that has 11 players who have recently been drafted to MLB. It should be a blast. Play begins this weekend.
P2inboulder
I agree. I will take Vandy over A&M in the final (best of three). Should be fun. It always is.

I think UNC finally has the goods this year despite my Tarheel bias. If they come up small, it will be entertaining if nothing else.

Forum MVP acududeman Posted June 25, 2011 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 After another dramatic finish in the 13th inning, it's now time for the Gamecocks to dispense of the Gators and win a second consecutive championship. Tune in Monday.....should be scintillating.

Tune in Monday.....should be scintillating. SC's pitching stuffed the Wahoo's on Friday. Had the bags chucked in the 10th, 11th, + 13th innings. Well played. I can't stand the Gators in any sport. Defend that crown. GO COCKS!!!

I've not seen such consistently brilliant defense and overall will to win (as a team) in a long time.

I've not seen such consistently brilliant defense and overall will to win (as a team) in a long time. History has been made by this team as of tonight. 1) After being to last team to win in the old stadium last year, the Gamecocks are now the first to win at the new one. 2) They set the record for most consecutive CWS wins (11). 3) They set the record for most consecutive playoff wins (16). For a school that never won a national title in any sport before last year, I am proud of my hometown team.

No real stars....but that's why it is a team sport. The Cock trifecta next year ? Just keep enjoyin' the ride !!
