I think it has sold out in the past, buddy, and it isn't necessarily a favorite place as far as some of us are concerned. Interesting layout, always hot and humid, and the crowd is, well, like a beach town crowd. Oh yes, plenty of law enforcement awaiting very close by.

Not that there's anything wrong with all of that!

I will be in South Bethany that week and will attend both shows.....I go every year.....well, for the past 6 anyway.....And what Chuck said. But with THAT being said, DSO always puts on a great show there! I'd get your tickets in advance, and wear minimal clothing!! It's a sweat box for sure despite part of it being open to the sky.....also a LOT of severe drunks there......one perk I always like is the endless pitchers of ice water for the taking. And the other thing, as mentioned above, is the extreme presence of police there. They are busily catching people who can't follow the 15 mph to 25 mph to 30 mph back to 25 mph and then to 50 mph....and then back to 25 mph all the way to OC, MD or to Rehobeth. I know they do that just to mess with us (and generate revenue). Argh!!

See you there!!

Funny I am staying in Bethany that week too, will be going solo as it's the first night we get in and the wife doesn't want to go, oh well her loss. I'm sure I will meet some friendly heads to hang with.

Damn, I thought Jersey Shore hotels were expensive during the summer! Boardwalk Plaza 579+ a night at the top end, 440 at the low. Anything near the beach is outrageously over priced. I was thinking ok I'll go for 250.....everything I looked at, that was decent quality was above 4 bills. I'm not paying that. Priceline isn't giving any ground either. I'll stay in South Jersey and take the Cape May Ferry over, I guess. It's a beautiful ride....the only problem is, I'll have to drive a roundabout way after the show, as the Ferry stops running. Oh well....so it goes.

I shudder every time I think of this venue..... but that's cause cops are scared of the cool kids, and the locals kids are punks that think it's cool to break people's windows... but we are easy targets, being "cool kids" and all.... sigh... but dancing and singing with our brothers and sister in the parking lot as High Time wafted from the venue as the cops rolled away after our report is a pretty groovy memory, despite the circumstances, and the show was killer

AND WE MET KIRA, LOVE YOU LADY

so, yeah, be smarter than we were, walk, and all that other advice you got from everyone else.... don't try to drive to the next show like that, leave that to the professionals with the bus and just go the next morning, that's what we learned, lol.

wish we had the balls to go to shows in the northeast ever again, period, but it just doesn't seem worth the annoying aspects of having ropes on our heads even though we're no threat to anyone! we saw what we needed to see there, we'll stay south and on this side now ;)

but we miss some of those venues, even this one!

Oh Mrs. Deviled Egg, the pleasure was all mine! That WAS an unfortunate night for you all, but things have a way of working themselves out I always say. And the show WAS fine!

Hey Greg, try the Rodeway Inn in Rehoboth Beach. I just checked their website, and rates aren't horrible for a beach hotel in July. It's on the main drag, is just fine for hanging your hat, and just a few miles from Dewey. We stayed there last year and survived just fine.

Can't wait to see you there!!

I have been looking in to camping for this 2 night run. Looks like a campsite for a pop-up is $125.00 for the 2 nights. I can rent the pop-up from the navy for about $100.00. That's 225 for the 2 nights. I can sleep 4 or 5 in the pop-up. Anyone interested in splitting this with me. The hotels are way too expesive for me, but if a couple people go in on this, it is very affordable.

Peace,

Joe

Dewey beach sucks. Venue sucks too, can't believe 2 nights there. Bad memories...

I been catchin' the Bottle & Cork shows for a few summers now & the only problem I ever had in Dewey Beach was a parking ticket (arrived late & made a stupid decision to park close to the venue)!

I really can't bitch about the cops there.....I was the ass who ignored the signs (LAW)....I kinda like the venue & last year was perfect weather for summer show (low humidity)!

See Ya' @ the shore,

Rob
