Forum MVP lookyloo Posted May 18, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 http://bouldertheater.com/event_detail.php?id=1494 Boulder Weekly Presents ROCKY MOUNTAIN GRATEFUL DEAD REVUE Doors @ 8:30 pm Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Review was formed in 2005 from the top players of the foremost Grateful Dead tribute bands in the Rocky Mountain region. Based originally on a premise of player interchangeability to suit the situation, compatibility and success have coalesced the band into its present configuration. The band's forte lies in its faithful rendering of Grateful Dead material, both originals and covers, and the Grateful Dead's trademark style of improvisation. Achieved through a careful balance of comprehension and execution of the more defined musical elements of the material with a fearless passion to connect with the elusive "X factor" that Jerry Garcia affectionately spoke of, RMGDR remains aligned with the Dead's creed of playing off the energy of the audience and making them an integral component of the overall dynamic. Guest Rob Eaton
The world is a complex place. Not everyone gets along. It's something we are working on. This band is mostly the Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue. We are all trying to bridge the gap to get all members back on board but for now it's 4 out of 5. My goal would to get it to 5 out of 5 but it's not something I can control. The music will be good and it's a cheap night out for good music... There's nothing wrong with that! Forum MVP lookyloo Posted May 22, 2011 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted May 22, 2011 People are saying the drummer is an egomaniac jerk, won't let the original bass player play, and no one will put their foot down. I think that sucks! Let me first say welcome to the forums as this is your 3rd post. Next, sounds like you have direct personal involvement with this and you're posting anonymously. While you are not violating any policies here, with all due respect, please take your personal issue with this and take care of it personally off line. Don't see how hijacking my thread with negativity when I wanted to be positive and get some friends out to have some fun solves your issue. Peace and good music for everyone. You are always a good cheap date Mr. Eaton. The RMGDR is always fun. A precursor to the August shows. So.....when are the Alaska shows (kidding, kidding, kidding)? Advisory Board Herdygerdy Posted May 27, 2011 Advisory Board Report Share Posted May 27, 2011 So.....when are the Alaska shows (kidding, kidding, kidding)? LOL!! LOL!! Funny enough, they are listed on the Tour Page of DSO's Website... August 18th - Anchorage, AK August 19th - Healy, AK August 20th - Fairbanks, AK Never say never... Unfortunatly, looks like I can't go... plane tickets are WAY expensive to get up there... Wanted to go there most of my entire life, but looks like it'll have to wait... 38 states under my belt, and Hawaii and Alaska are gonna be tough to make before I turn 40.... ugh...
