Guest Lisacat
Man the showbox is an interesting venue... great elective set. First set highlights were the absolute angelic sitting in limbo and then the Lazy lightning>supplication, Second set start off with a scarlet begonias and not sure where it went from there...reuben and cherise, jack straw....something like that. The highlight of the whole night though was the Comes a Time. I'm not sure I've ever heard anything more beautiful played by the band...and I don't say that lightly. Glad they hired TSA to be the security...rubber gloves and all.

Guest Lisacat
Forgot about the Hey Jude>Dear mr fantasy. That was fun. And the security guard who came to me and told me that I "have to calm down". What I think she really meant was dance harder, and I did.

Forum MVP Island Bro Posted April 1, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted April 1, 2011 Wow..... I've fully enjoyed previous original sets before but this one tips the balance way over for me and hungry for more of them when the time comes... I'm in complete agreement with Lisa on the Comes a Time comments....no words to add....just heart blasted open Hey Jude also another high point 2nd set (although the whole dang show was pretty much sticking to the high ground!)...Barraco belting it out from down deep,,,,and then getting whole crowd going together....synergy and unity throughout hall....many thanks for that one,,,, Someone else can fill in with full setlist...there was also a Passenger early on in 1st set and the night was feeling on target for a '78 or something after Might as Well then opening and one or two in between...Jack a Roe (Help!---4 hrs. of sleep) But then the Limbo sure opened up into the blank slate for the original setlist...When Push Comes to Shove brought in some Brent energy,,,and I just can't thread back from memory any else that hasn't been mentioned from 1st set, but there was more in there... 2nd set also had a Jack Straw somewhere in there and there was Uncle John's, Playin, trippy jam outta space that sure seemed like the middle of Dark Star jam but couldn't quite put my finger on it... But the second set just grabbed everyone in the hall with the Scarlet>Ruben opener and didn't let go til' it was over....Synergy Oh, and I really dug Kevin' work last night...he was layin' out some deep ones that you could feel in your bones,,,,,Right on Kevin!!! Closed with a smokin' hot Tangled up in Blue encore.... Filled with gratitude and already feeling really musically satisfied between B'ham and Seattle so Oregon will all be bonus... Guest bcstar
Still a little foggy this am. Mexi Blues was second after Might As Well. There was a Dup. Diam Blues in there. First time seeing Jeff, he was awesome!! Looked like the band was having a lot of fun. Not a lot a room to move as the joint was pretty packed and very hot. The second set never stopped. Off to the Bay for next weekend.

Camp Rusty
We had such a great time last night :) The music was stunning, and the crowd seemed to know just how to move.......I didn't get bumped in to or stepped on, and no spilled beer on my feet all night either. We made a night out of it, it was my Valentine 's Day gift from the wife, good job honey. We had a hotel within walking distance and met with sixteen other old hippies for a pre funk dinner. The band just tore it up start to finish, we have friends who are doing the whole run from B-ham to Eugene, envious of those pholks as I would love to be along on that journey. The highlight of the night for us was the Tangled, making it a perfect end to the night as this is sort of " our song". Thanks to the band for a stellar night, and thanks to the great crowd too. Forum MVP Island Bro Posted April 4, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 Looks like it never got noted here, but Eaton had his acoustic guitar up there and switching back and forth throughout the evening which was a really nice mix... And also, that weather report was a really sweet suite that night...always nice to hear that one when you are in the middle of a huge seasonal shift like right now---and summer is still a foreign concept.... Was damn glad to be at this show.....

I find this at most DSO Shows... I really love how everyone seems to be aware of everyone around them.. and you dont have people pushin thru you or knockin your drink outta your hand. Its like a perfectly tangled mess of dancing bodies..
