DSO back in Amsterdam 2012.... hoping there are a couple of other EU dates to go along with it.

Not sure I'll make it again, but sure would love to. But maybe without the 4 bottles of wine from Paris this time. I'm still here.

If it works out, lisacat, I will do my best to be there! I have only been to Germany as far as Europe goes, and I would love to see more! Have only heard the raves about Amsterdam--would love to experience this for myself before I am too old!!

If I could swing it, I'd really like to pair it with a trip to Italy...been wanting to go to visit the town where my family is from (the town of Montafia!)- in the Asti province (there would be more good wine there ;-))

It sure is a hike though from California....

I've bought JiTD tix, never mind the price

Barely 'member the Melkweg, they tell me it's nice

I stayed in hotels, patterns on the walls

I gotta work now to pay for it all...

Life's been good to me so far...

Randi, you are NEVER to old!! You are only as old as you feel... sometime I feel like I'm 90, and other days (which are far and few between) I feel like I'm 18 again...

Wer kann Deutsch sprechen?

Ich spreche deutsch, aber nicht so gut... Ich nahm Deutsch in der High School f

Ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch aber mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut!

Not this summer but the next I'll be flying home from here and an Amsterdam visit is on the schedule for sure. JiTD in June of that year would suit me just fine :)

JITD's of years past have usually been late March to early April... Amsterdam is THE SHIT!

Haven't been to Germany in over 16 years... hope to get back there soon... need to brush up on my German tho... anyone who plans to Germany, I highly recommend visiting Munich and Heidelberg...

Would love to be able to work this out!! Never been to Europe... But this is one helluva reason!!

I agree!! Why not go when your favorite band is there?? This is really the only city in Europe (besides ALL of Italy) that I have been wishing to visit (never been either). I have been trying to break down the cost (hotel, passes, tour, reception, etc.), and it seems a bit pricey, given that the package deal does not include airfare. I suppose that you end up paying for the service of having the leg work done for you. Anyways, I've already forwarded the link to Liz (wife). This should be an interesting topic of discussion in the next few weeks... ;)

Okay, now I'm SERIOUSLY considering this. Lotsa my coworkers go to Amsterdam and they love it and recomend it. Lessee, airfare in $484, tix are $225, hotel or hostel....

I have faith in the good burghers of Amsterdam prevailing and holding off on passing this law. I read this week that around 25% of tourists to Amsterdam visit the coffeehouses, that's a big drop in revenue and money does have a way of talking. I hope to be in Amsterdam for the next JITD and they better not mess up the herb factor for me! Remember back in the day the GD were banned from some cities but eventually invited back because of the revenue they brought to that city when 'the cicus' came to town. I know this happened in Eugene, OR for one.

Regardless if they pass the law or not you will be able to get premium weed in Amsterdam from just about anyone. Standing near coffeeshops and offering to buy foreigners weed will become big business. The genie was let out of this bottle 40yrs ago and its not going back in. This law will backfire like alcohol prohibition in the US.

True, but the comfort factor of being able to enter the establishment, make your buy and sit back and enjoy a leisurely smoke would be gone. And the guarantee of quality might not be there. I am hoping for cooler heads to prevail and to maintain the status quo this time.
