P2inboulder
Friday, 2/11: First set was great. Didn't kick up the sound until "Deal". "Weather Report Suite " was stunning. "Mountain Song > "Rider" was thumping. 'Dark Star" was of course surreal with great lighting to accompany it. "China Doll" melted the place down. Grade A- Saturday, 2/12: A first set doesn't get better than this one. "Truckin", "Crazy Fingers". "Dark Hollow", "Ramble On Rose" for the first half of the set. Second set...well, where do I start? "Shakedown Street", "Viola Lee Blues", "Birdsong", "Other One", "Terrapin Suite " with an Arabic sound to it. Kablooey!!! Grade A+ Sunday, 2/13: A pretty generic show overall. Grade B They played well every show. Sound was also great, with the exception of the majority of the first shows, first set. If you have tickets hold on to them. If you don't, well you need to get some.

Forum MVP VincentPuleo Posted February 23, 2011 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 23, 2011 I'm so glad to see them delve into the whole Weather Report suite instead of only giving Let It Grow the attention. I believe they first brought the whole thing out at the Garden in November... Bobby's little guitar intro was amazing to hear live.

I believe they first brought the whole thing out at the Garden in November... Bobby's little guitar intro was amazing to hear live. Bobby's rhythm could actually be heard every song. His vocals sounded the best yet since Furthur's inception. The "Throwing Stones" on Saturday (2/12), was awesome. He demolished it at Red Rocks last September. They get better every time I see them. That is good, + scary....but in a good way. Toodleoo.

At my last Furthur show at the SF Civic, Bobby's guitar could certainly be heard--way too much!! He was turned up extremely high, and the tone had this very annoying shrill sound. He was often burying JK in the mix. A number of others I spoke to had this same reaction, so it wasn't just me. Did you notice anything like this?
