Dancer'sChoice
Bill Graham would have been 80 today. I wonder how he would have dealt with the presence of mega promoters in the concert business.

Guest jazz-man
I think Bill would be outraged by the corporatism in the music biz. I hope he'd keep BGP as a local SF outfit and do business his way and survive. That's my hope, maybe he'd give it up like the Fillmore East. Who knows, but he is missed. just a dream
I was at a Dead show at the Nassau Coliseum in the 70's, and, while waiting outside for the doors to open, someone stole tickets from a young person's hand. Bill Graham saw this happen, immediately ran after and tackled the guy, then handed the tickets back to the original person. An amazing sense of community from someone who didn't have to risk himself like that, but did anyway! It all happened so fast, and he responded instantly.
