Totally smoking show last night; first set was good but had a few odd "shoehorn" spots, as I called them (as in, they tried to shoehorn in another phrase, or vocal, etc. where it didn't quite fit). That second set though...wow. Holy smokes. JK lit it up last night, as did Phil (HUGE bombs at the start of "Help.") Almost ended getting on the bus to Baltimore, but work calls.

Set I:

Celebration >

Big River >

Bertha

Sitting on Top of the World

Mountain Song >

Greatest Story Ever Told

China Cat Sunflower >

Come Together

Set II:

Playing in the Band >

Colors of the Rain >

The Wheel >

Uncle John's Band >

Let It Grow>

Wharf Rat >

Help on the Way >

Slipknot! >

Born Cross-Eyed >

Slipknot! >

Franklin's Tower

Encore:

Johnny B. Goode

I got to chime in here. The sound in Cincinnati was atrocious, very muddied and the setlist didn't work for me, couldn't wait to get back in the parking lot. Some of these splits aren't natural.... too many songs between a scarlet and a fire just loses it for me and Bobby sang Days Between. I think JK had that nailed already. Anyway, this ain't even close to the band I enjoyed seeing when Garcia was here. Those coliseum shows at $75.00 a ticket are ridiculous and we had seats right in front of the stage. That's it , sorry if preceived negativity, but hey we're all grown up around here. I, for one, will not be going back to see these reincarnation bands. Jerry's gone and that's that. I will venture into a DSO show since they are playing nice cozy places and are keeping their ticket prices real. There was a big article in the Cincinnati Enquirer about how much a money maker GDP has been through the years. Not from me not anymore.

11/14/10 Cincinnati, OH
