Grateful Dead Hour On Wtsr

I co-hosted a to hour radio program with a buddy of mine who goes to TCNJ. He invited me to come down and organize a GD playlist. I decided being that since we were broadcasting from The College of New Jersey (WTSR), why not pick all songs from shows that took place in NJ and go chronically. Unfortunately with all the news feeds and promos and psa's I couldn't quite nerd out but it was still a good time with good tunes. Also wanted to play some longer jams such as the Eyes from 8-6-74 but my co-dj told me not to pick anything too too long so the longest pick is 12 minutes. I meant to post this topic last night if anyone was interested in listening but I was a wee bit busy and away from my computer. We recorded the show and I'm gonna try to post it on the internet if anyone is interested. Gave DSO a plug at the end because :dsorocks:

Playlist was:

1. Casey Jones 7-18-72 Roosevelt Stadium

2. Morning Dew 9-27-72 Stanley Theatre

3. Cumberland Blues 9-27-72 Stanley Theatre

4. Scarlet Begonias 8-6-74 Roosevelt

5. Mission In The Rain 6-18-76 Capitol Theatre

6. Eyes of the World 6-18-76 Capitol Theatre

7. U.S. Blues 6-18-76 Capitol Theatre

8. Let The Good Times Roll 10-11-89 Meadowlands Arena

9. When I Paint My Masterpiece 10-11-89 Meadowlands Arena

10. Terrapin Station 9-3-77 Englishtown Raceway (saved it for last cause it's my favorite)

Basically made the playlist off the top of my head. Wanted a bit more 80's and perhaps Bobby didn't quite get his fair share but the music was still excellent.

I know I left out some choice nuggets but there's so many songs and so little time.

I'm a sucker for Phil's bombs on 8-4-76 Roosevelt Help On The Way, but then again that selection would have been too long I suppose.

I would also have been tempted to throw in something from Spring '88 Brendan Byrne, perhaps the 3/30 Dew (greatest vocal Dew delivery ever?!?), not to mention the 10-16-89 Byrne material.

Sounds like a fun project!

Help-Slip-Frank from 8-4-76 is creme de la creme but way too long. I wanted to use the scarlet/fire from 4-27-77 but once again too long... same with a lot of the stuff from 9-3-77. If i were to pick something from 10-16-89 it could only possibly be Dark Star. But like i said, so many choices, so little time. It was hard to narrow down what to keep and what to not use. Unfortunately, the longest songs had to go first.
