Guest shorthopper88
WOW. Set one: Promised Land, Sugaree, Mr. Charlie, Black Throated Wind, Loser, Next Time You See Me, El Paso, Dire Wolf, Two Souls In Communion, Playin' In The Band, He's Gone, Cumberland Blues, Jack Straw, Chinatown Shuffle, China Cat Sunflower-> I Know You Rider, Not Fade Away-> Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad-> Not Fade Away Set Two: Truckin'-> The Other One-> Morning Dew-> The Other One-> Sing Me Back Home, Me & My Uncle, Ramble On Rose, Sugar Magnolia, Casey Jones, E: One More Saturday Night What a night of music. So obvious that the band and crowd had a boat load of fun. The first set alone was incredible, i was very surprised at how long it was. For me, PITB, and the China>Rider were very well jammed out and I was VERY pleased with how sophisticatedly psychedelic they were. Oh yea, then we got served a NFA>GDTRFB>NFA sandwich, which really pushed the first set into the VERY AWESOME zone. I thought the first set was going to end after Cumberland Blues, but it just kind of kept going, it was great! After such an great first set, i didn't quite know what to expect. They had already exceeded my expectations, so I was just relaxed and ready for the second set of music. You can read the setlist above, all I have to say is that it was filled with deep, soulful jamming, a soothing Sing Me Back Home. Sugar Magnolia (one of my fav's), Casey Jones (Classic), and an encore of One More Saturday Night (expected but still a great rockin tune) was a great way to close up the show. Couldn't have asked for more. Danced by ass off. I've seen DSO at the Palace in Albany for the past 3 years now. And this was easily the best, and that is saying a lot based on their past performances here. Thanks for bringing me a taste of Europe 72, DSO style. TJed
What an incredible setlist! Wish I could have been there. Hope all who went had a wonderful time. 19 song first set...heck, that's more songs than entire Dead shows I saw in the 80s/90s. Gotta love DSO! dave t
great show the other night. i pegged it half way through the first set for the date and location so the length didn't surprise me. it was first time seeing this band but far from my first seeing jeff and rob since i played with the zen tricksters for a short time and go back to the mid 70's in bands with jeff. keep up the good work! dave
