Been lurking around here for a long time, first time I've ever felt the need to chime in- a friend of a friend invited me to a party on Saturday night. Apparently, this friend does pretty well and has a concert for his friends every August on his farm between Pottstown and Reading- this year, the entertainment was DSO. What an incredible experience- seeing a band I love that I've paid to see with hundreds or thousands of others- playing under a tent to no more than 50 people. The host got to pick the setlist of course, and what a setlist it was- 5/23/72:

05-23-72 The Strand Lyceum, London, England (Tue)

1: Promised, Sugaree, Mr. Charlie, B. T. Wind, Tennessee Jed, Next Time, Jack Straw, China Cat> I Know You Rider, Me & My Uncle, Chinatown Shuffle, Big RxR Blues, Two Souls, Playin, Top Of The World, Rockin Pneumonia, Mexicali, Good Lovin, Casey Jones

2: Ramble On, Dark Star> Drums> Dark Star> Morning Dew, He's Gone, Sugar Magnolia, Comes A Time, GDTRFB> NFA> Hey Bo Diddley> NFA E: Uncle John

Highlights were Tenneessee Jed, Good Lovin, Dew, and the NFA Bo Diddley sandwich. This was my first time seeing the band post-JK and any doubts I had about Jeff were answered immediately- the magic is alive and well!

The band was clearly getting off on playing to such a small crowd and Rob Eaton seemed to be laughing that I, one of the youngest people in attendance at 25 and one of the more straight-laced looking people there (no tie dye, etc) knew pretty much every word to early tunes that the experienced Heads in attendance weren't familiar with.

Get out to see this band ASAP, and to the band- thank you for a real good time!
