Just downloaded some fresh Feb. 2010 DSO while watching Duke scrambling against Butler (and hopefully getting beat). Got the Charlotte show 2/20/10. Listening to you during this show reminded me of my sons baseball game the other night. He's 10 and we'll say a somewhat skiddish batter. I bought him a new bat that he was really proud of. Well he had been to bat twice and walked and struck out. His third time to bat, he looked over at me and I gave him the thumbs up - he made it to full count and I think he closed his eyes and swung with all he had and cracked it out to right field and ended up with a triple. Coach gave him the game ball afterwards for his "stepping up". That is not to take anything away from his other teammates (they were up 13 - 5), but his effort could be considered inspirational to the other players.

So to the point and to this Charlotte show. I felt it that night, but now listening to it (very loud with my earphones and soundboard quality) it is confirmed. Dude, you killed it. It was an awesome show and everybody brought their stuff, but I gotta give you the game ball. It was your teammates that gave you the energy to shine, and brother you did. You owned that Hard to Handle (a personal fav), the old school Minglewood, Operator, Around and Around, your delicate touch on WRS and the GDTRFB was just insane. Maybe TC sitting in for those few songs to start the second set gave you some giddy-up (I don't even know if you are friends). Love everybody in the band, just trying to recognize an effort I'd consider inspirational. Talk about some frisky fingers!! Thanks for what you do.

PS: damn, Duke just won by 2.

He's already been confirmed as the happiest person performing music right now. Even on the hearfelt Jerry ballads, as the song gets somber, you can still look to the right and see that Cheshire Cat smile beaming from behind the keys. Now I'm getting worried that if he gets too many "game balls" and someone gets him that tapestry back, he may just go Spinal Tap(which of course was a sly GD reference) and just explode on stage. I think we need to tread lightly. How much joy can one person express. ;)
